This never seemed to be a problem when making all the other quilts that I have done. So I had to redo a couple after adjusting my seam allowance. I'm loving the PP blocks and am jumping ahead and doing some of the easy appliqued blocks. I'll send some pictures when I learn how to load them to my laptop.
Gail - the only thing I don't understand is why it is happening with the DJ only and not with other quilts??? By now I am familiar with my own sewing habits and know exactly what part of my machine the fabric pieces I am sewing together needs to line up with to make that 1/4" seam. but it is consistent with all projects - have you changed the weight of your thread, size of needle, had your machine serviced?? If you are consistently producing blocks that are a little small, I would adjust cutting method and/or sewing line.. when I cut, I line up ruler 'on the' fabric rather than 'against' it - i.e. to cut 2" strip, I make sure the cut edge of fabric is under the 2" line - that way I have a few extra threads to make sure I can take a full 1/4" seam [or cpl threads more] without losing the full pattern. You can also make sure your machine's 1/4" line - or - the edge of your 1/4" foot ends past your fabric slightly.

hope this helps!

Count me in on the signature block exchange. I'll make whatever the group decides is best.

I was finely able to start my DJ. I had her all ready to go before I went to Florida to visit my daughter. I got home late Thursday and Friday was ready to jump in... What happened??? I panicked... I'm doing an Around the World pattern and I have all my fabrics divided, simple, right...But I just had the hardest time pinning it down to ONE and then picking the background.....I may throw them all in a bag and draw randomly.... Lucky for me, my DJ-BFF was there to encourage me along. <333 you Fraew!!! I'm so grateful for her. I think we all need a DJ-BFF and maybe a DJ-BigSister for us noobs.....although everyone in this group is so very helpful and friendly. Above and beyond necessary, and you all make it so fun. I'd totally be up for a SignatureBlock swap. Put me down for a yes. Here are my Week1 set of blocks. Now I'm off to find Week2 and maybe by next week I'll be caught up.

I would be interested in the signature block exchange, but do you think we could go to 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 or so? That way, when we deside what to do with them, we'd have more options. Another thought, and this is completely off the top of my head, wouldn't it be great if we swapped a picture of each of us with our DJ (completed or not)? If we got reprints at 10 cents on sale, that would only be about $12.00 for 115 of them. Just a thought.................
All of your blocks are looking good. Hopefully, I will post pics this week. Hmmmm, I said that last week!

I noticed that many of you have pinned or tacked the block number to the front of the block to stay organized. I've chosen a different method as I want my block 'unfettered' from the front and the block number permanently affixed. So I used my archival pen to put the block number on the hidden seam allowances on the backs, as in this picture

Hi everyone, I have been reading and keeping up with the posts...last night I made the first 3 with this group..I will post pics soon...I have about 40 made and 7 triangles...I have lost 1 triangle...just to let you know that these little blocks are very easy to lose or misplace so make sure you have a good storing system..and ps..don't put your waste basket underneath your design wall...blocks can fall off and into it...ask me how I know!!!
