D6 - Paper Pieced C6 - I printed the pattern on card stock. The center circle was cut out of the template. I cut the center cross from the circle. Pink fabric was basted to the center cross template and to the outer template. These were whipped stitched together (English Paper Piecing). This was appliqued on top of the white fabric forming the white melons. Previous near death by melon insanity forced me to be creative. C3 - Redo, English Paper Pieced

Well, I am finally back with some blocks, not caught up and no QAYG on any of the blocks, but am on vacation next week, so taking along to do some. Since I got so far behind, I am not following the guidelines, but just going down row D, and sewing as they come. I got as far as D7, and quit till after vacation, because D8 looks like a real stinker. And this post is my 1000th post. A milestone for me. Sorry for the long post, but wanted to get all this posted. Put on the dark glasses when you get to D1, it is pretty bold. I am posting to pictures, the 3 signature quilts that put me so far behind.
Here is D7-a fairly simple block.

And here is D6, and yes, this is satin material, so remember that this is a glitzy DJ. I got this piece of material from a granddaughter's prom dress that I had to shorten. Imagine my terror of cutting into a big bucks prom dress. Just had to use it in one of the blocks.

On to D5 and another not too hard of a block. I am improving on my sewing, can see the difference from when I started.

This is D4 and once again, these little ovals are a bear to do, but will look fine, once I get the applique done on them.

Block D3 was done a while back, so here is D2. A little tricky, but taking time and lots of thought, I am happy with how it turned out.

Here is D1 and this material was used by one of the granddaughters in her 13 year quilt.

The blocks are looking fabulous everyone! Hopefully on my next set of days off I can put out a couple myself. I've had other "needs" pop up which took me away from DJ.

Spartan Quilter: That is going to be a precious quilt, using such memories in it. But be sure to not somewhere where the fabric is from. Take it from one who can no longer remember which fabric came from what child/occasion. Oh, and congratulations on your 1000th post!

Great blocks SpartanQuilter. I am still working on my AOTH but I enjoy seeing all of the blocks that everyone else is making.

I did block C6 last night. I did the center as a circle that i reverse appliqued by machine. Then I needle turn appliqued the part over the top. When I finished I cut som of the circle fabric out from behind. It came out pretty good. I still can't get pictures to post. I bought a new cable to get the pictures from my camera to the computer and I am still unable to get it to work. I am leaving for Hilton Head in the morning and will get my SIL to help me. She is really good with a MAC. Hope I can get it fixed.
All of the blocks are just amazing. Each one is just more amazing than the last. SUch beautiful work.

Thanks to all for all the comments and compliments. Sure did feel good to get a few blocks done up again, but have this 3 day weekend at work, and not getting much else done. A 10 hour work day with a 45 minute drive one way, doesn't leave much time or energy to sew. And I have learned the hard way, not to sew when I am tired. lol
Have a safe and happy 4th of July, everyone.
