I just can't seem to navigate around this website. I'm trying to find where it has each week of blocks that I can click on. I've gone to page 1 which takes me to this page but that's not what I want... Help an old lady get started please.

On the EPP, I have used both the silk and a cotton thread. I am to hear the answer to your question too.
A big hug!

I have tried lots of things for EPP...I had a problem with the thread shredding. This year, I tried Superior threads 60wt Bottom Line Polyester. I bought the "Super Bobs Donut" so it has a large variety of colors on prewound bobbins. They go everywhere I go! I LOVE this stuff!!! It hides about the same as silk (for me anyway) but I like the heavier feel of it. And...not a single shrewder thread!
BTW - I also tried silk this year (YLI #100) for appliqué. It hides fantastically but I think I selected my thread too thin...I don't like the feel of its thinness. I tried the Bottom Line for applique and LOVE the results there too!
What weight silk are using for EPP? I didn't try mine for EPP again because it felt too thin for me to hold on to to work fast.

Thanks for the reply Fraew. I use Gutermann thread that I buy at JoAnns. The spool doesn't say what weight it is so I did a search just now and all of the Gutermann silk thread is saying 30W. I think the reason I'm wondering about it being durable is that in old crazy quilts the silk fabrics seem to deteriorate faster than the cottons. However, that may be because of the chemicals used in those fabrics rather than the silk itself. If cotton is truly significantly more durable then I think I would rather use cotton on this labor of love quilt. But, I DO like the results of the silk thread! Thanks for your help.
