Last year on the swap, I did five quilt swaps. I am in two row robins and pretty soon those will be done so I will have two more quilts to assemble. The way jillaine has it set up on the quilts, it is pretty secure and I was an angel for two of them. Was nice getting quilts I would have not made like an applique one that hangs so nicely in my hallway. Whigrose made it for me. It is her avatar. check it out. It is the Mexican Rose and she did the swags herself. Her applique is so awesome. Have her in one of my row robins.

I will do the current weeks blocks, then do the first week blocks, and so forth. I think that will get me caught up. I see that I have till September to finish it. I think it would be cool if I could finish it and put in the quilt show this fall in October. If not, there is always next year for the shows.

Thank you for the help. I see that it will be necessary to see your tutes on some of these blocks, as sometimes my math skills just dont jive real good. I do read directions good though.

That's a good plan, QuilterMomma. And we'll hang out here and help you when we can. Be sure to check out the couple of websites we often get help from -- thatquilt.com and auntreensquilts.com

Here's Week 70 (I think) -- anyway, the week of May 12:

Hello beautiful ladies!
How are all of you?
I hope that very well and enjoying a beautiful day!
I was able to complete my 4 blocks of Jane Dear and bring photos to share!
Are F-5, F-6, F-7 and F-8, all of my own week 28.
In total it took 73 blocks, 12 triangles and 1838 parts!
I wish you all have a beautiful weekend!
A big hug for everyone!

Gladys, thank you!! I never really left. I've watched all y'all sew on past me as my DJ hid. But I found her again and I'll be around trying to catch up or just keep going! Btw... I love your fabrics. So many pretty colors!! Beautiful blocks!

Well, I hunkered down again with Jane. I've been itching to get back at her but "stuff" kept getting in the way. But darn it all anyway, I only got one block done. B-11. And it was not fun. The block turned out quite nice actually but I realized I have to get my rhythm back!
Everyone's blocks are wonderful!

Hi all -I have been away from here for a while - and now - it is 4.15am and I can't sleep - so thought I would say "hello"
I am going to my Dear Jane group today - about an hours drive and hope to now measure all the blocks and tri's and and double check the finished sizes - taking into account any that are slightly wrong - that I can adjust when I add the sashing - (probably 1/16th inch'ish) and take out any foundation papers I have left in. Then I want to start adding the sashing. I have made the quilt top for a friends grandchild due in July - need to now get that layered and quilted.
I just don't know where the time goes.
It is nice to see some new DJ 'ers here and all the blocks are looking so nice.
I am going back to bed now - and hope I can catch a few 'zzzzzs !!
Night night.

I have to tell you it is certainly no easier than Affairs of the Heart if you decide to needleturn! there are some halfsquare triangles and other piecing, but the flowers have some nasty inner corners for turning [my least favorite!]

An Inner V needleturn....What you need to do with those nasty things is make one sharp precise cut directly into the corner - I do it one thread out. Make your needleturn stitches closer together when you approach the corner "V" then take a stitch going down into your background exactly at the V and come back up somewhat visible a couple of threads beyond the edge of your applique fabric. Whip the thread around the applique and draw it gently up where you came through before. Next tack it down to your background with one more careful stitch and continue up the other side starting with stitches closer together. [I took the opp for a quick needleturn instruction - which I hope makes sense - to lure you into AOTH !!! I need some company when I go back to it LOL!!]

Hi everyone,
it's been a very busy (and stressful) week. I miss working on DJ. All the blocks posted are awesome! Feels like we're having a renewed interest here on this thread - nice.

Monica, thanks for continued encouragement for AOTH. I DO love sewing along with you! I won't rule it out, but I'm sure I won't be able to put any more thought into it until school is out. We are late releasing here (mid- to late June). Things will only get busier for me until I'm on summer break. I don't think I'm familiar with Sue Nickels, I'll have to google and find her. Yes, I hadn't thought about it, but I guess it does remind me of Piece O'Cake!

I'm getting ready for a quilt friend to visit so I've been busy with the house. I haven't put my sewing things back on the dining room table since having Mother's Day here at my house. Maybe by this evening I can work on a DJ block again. Have a wonderful week everyone.
