Thanks, Cindya! I have the Software, I don't have the book, and slope a bit at the beginning. Over with my language drama, was torture first blocks. But then one takes the hand, and although it is not perfect, I I think that without him I would have failed it! And now with 109 blocks... is on a roll! Hahaha!A hug!

QuiltingNinaSue Have you started any blocks yet? I have started at A1 also and have three blocks done so far. I need to post pictures soon. I just ordered more fabric looking forward to it coming. Love your blocks Gladys they are lovely. Gus that you for posting you wonderful block with the tutorial. I did A 1 the first time without looking closely at the picture of Janes block. So I redrafted it and cut out it out today. We will see how it turns out now

Pink Lady, I will start on Monday, January 27, with A 1 and see how far I can go to A 10; I will stop when I get there until next month when the next shipment arrives from Quilting on the Square. I am attempting to do their Reproduction DJ and their Batiks...the latter is a more modern colorful version of DJ.

Right now I am doing QOTS series of Spike your English free patterns; keep up with the ladies on the Pony Club Discussion Mystery Blocks, do the 50 Fab Stars, and an Irish Mist Kit...almost done.

Gladys, did you not start with us on Pony Club???and I sent some fabric to you back then??? I believe your brother was in poor health when you quit that group. happy to see that you are quilting and doing a great job.

Hello, Pink Lady! Welcome to the Group! No, I was not that person. Never belonged to any Club, just by my country customs prohibitions. It would be a dream! A big hug!

On QB, BOM, we did the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt, then when Laura Hern came out with the second book called Farmer's Wife Pony Club, we did that one also. No Club. Just Quilting Group on QB. International group of interesting ladies to quilt with.

Everyone have a good evening.

Began my DJ, by starting the lessons on the DJ software. The first three blocks are pieced ones which went together ok.(pics to follow once I get a chance to take photos).
Next two blocks are applique. I have prepared them for needle turn applique, but got wondering if anyone has attempted the applique blocks as machine applique?
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has done/attempted this.
Thanks,
GEMRM

I'm sorry I can not help you, GEMRM. I use needle turn appliqué. I hope that someone can answer your concern! A hug!

GEMRM, I usually do my applique by hand but I have tried machine applique and may do more of it because of the speed. Try a short and narrow blind hem stitch, keeping most of the stitches on the background piece. I've heard both: match your thread to the background, match your thread to the applique piece. Just make a few test pieces and see which you like the best. Years ago I used the clear (plastic) thread. I hated it. If I try it again I'm going to use a regular thread. Have you tried to google youtube or Missouri Star Quilts for a demo? Good luck.
