Time flies except when waiting for the 15th to find out about the Mystery ride. Judy does an amazing job. I have done them all. Soooo looking forward to this one too. Found some new recipes for puppy chow. Red velvet and brownie to name a few. Will make some to munch on.

Promised some pics of my Third Mystery Train UFO in progress. Manage to get a bit further working on it again today. Here are some pics Im thinking Im going to end up with two quilts vs. one because my fabrics are just too busy IMHO. Which is fine because that is just that much more quilt fun I will have.

I've only got a week of solitude left then we go travelling again. I think I heard that Judy's starting this one on the 15th Jan, Coud be wrong though.

Mfay will love to see your tops from the previous UFO's as a reminder of the fun we have had. Lots of fun sitting around the campfire and quilting while we are waiting. Im still wondering what's in the Taco Soup reciepe. Alrighty Im off to work on my UFO.

Ok, to all of you who were expecting a new mystery in Janury, I do apologize for not posting a message. My sewing machine died, poor baby only had 35 million stitches on it since I bought it 4-1/2 years ago, LOL, yes, I sew a lot, and the embroidery wasn't working anymore with my new Windows 8, so I decided to buy a new one. Then began the process of deciding what to do, and am trying to wrap my brain around all the new features. I think I have my project picked out, just need to start making my demo and taking pictures. Please be patient a little longer but hope to have mystery #6 up and running at the end of the month.

Oh, sure Jenniky and mom-6, I'll share the taco soup recipe. Great any time you need a quick meal. I usually put mine in the crockpot the day before to get the flavors to meld, but it's good even without the extra time. Here goes:

TACO SOUP
1/2 c chopped onion
2 cans tomato sauce *
1 can dark red kidney beans
1 can black beans
2 cans petite diced tomatoes (okay to use ones with celery, onion, etc added0
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 lb. browned hamburger
1 can of water

*buy all cans the same size
Mix together in a large pot or a crockpot. Simmer 30 minutes. Garnish with sour cream, shredded cheese, olives, taco chips, onion...whatever you have on hand. ENJOY!

Oh, once in awhile, I throw in a can of corn, too. Just for the added color.

Or you can make gumbo. Replace the hamburger with Andouille sausage (hot, hot) chicken or shrimp. Add okra. Skip the sausage if your taste buds are not "pepper challenged".

Jenniky My Mystery train 3 was very large too, so I made it into 2 smaller ones. and I dont think its too busy ...love it.
Paint me judy Glad you're up & running with your new machine. I might be a late starter on this one as we're off travelling again next Monday.
