I am still finishing up step 1. I had to stop to do a square for the boom8 and to make my Doll Quilt. Then I had wonderful company stop by. My Grt niece and her two little girls. So not much sewing. BUT today looks like it might be a Jammy day and i will sew all day. (as soon as my daughter downstairs wakes up). Got to catch up. I love step 3. The colors that is.

Good morning y'all..
I am so glad Jeanie posted the link to this on the Orca Bay thread..I would have never found you otherwise lol.
I am making half the quilt this time as I chose to make the quilt in oranges, yellows and blues and this will be the perfect Spring lap/throw quilt for my living room. I finished the geese yesterday and have last step all cut out will be sewing it tomorrow and Tuesday as I am off work. I haven't done the four patches yet because I wasn't sure which contsant color to use and when Bonnie said we weredonee with grey, I thought well I'll wait and see how it plays Out and pick my "grey" then. I have a hunch that the four patches will do a chain in the quilt so I want to see how the blocks turn out before I pick a color..is that cheating? LOL. And I am loving this mystery so far..much easier than last year..you know by this time last year we did some 350 HST, 240 QSt and 60 some strings lol..I don't know why I still remember the numbers but I know that quilt ended with more than 7500 pieces..DH counted them lol.
Love what everyone is doing so far.

I'm home now for awhile not more trips until after Christmas...
Thanks Jeanie for all your help...At first I was a little confused with the "4 patch center" I had to look at it a couple of time to understand what Bonnie meant. what this technique creates is 4 seams going in the same direction (pinwheel) so that when they are joined later on there won't be any twisting...they will nest (bump Up) against each other .. I will be working on step 3 tomorrow using the 4 patch way mentioned here...I really appreciate all the new ways to do a step...especially since someone else worked out the kinks!!!

You all are very welcome! I also saved and printed the directions for the Shaded Four Patch Tutorial. It looks like it would work real well! You just never stop learning, and that is a good thing!!!
