I think that looks really nice Vicki, of course I love PINK..the black & white/pink really sets it off. That's the border I'm making too. Hope it turns out as nice as yours.

Thank you VickiM. I am now completing my final border on the kitty.

Yours looks great too. I don't think the latest border is too light at all.

The top for Thomas the Sophisticat is complete. I used the same black tone-on-tone kitty fabric for the border as I used for the actual kitty. The corner squares are the final colour version that I have of the kitty face fabric. I think the turquoise also ties into his collar but I didn't like the collar fabric for the border. Plus, now the only place I have used a metallic is in the centre so it makes it special.

I'm quite pleased with how he turned out.

I will continue to follow this thread so I can add to my repertoire for future quilts.

OMG! That has turned out sooooooo cute...you've matched fabrics purrrrrfectly! I have several of those fabrics you used, I've always loved her kitties. One day I will do something with mine, as I don't have alot of any of them either. What size has your quilt turned out to be?

All the ones I see are awesome. Elsabrat, I am having a blast. I posted my pink one already but just finished my blue one. I took a pix side by side. Obviously the centers are different but I have done the same rounds for both yet with different fabrics. They look so different.

Thanks. I'm quite happy with him. Final size is 34 x 46. I don't have enough of any Laurel Burch fabric to back the quilt but might be able to use a few for the binding. Not sure yet whether the backing will be one piece of fabric or several.

Thanks sustraley. I've been promising the kitties a quilt for a while now but I'm seriously doubting this will be theirs.

hopetoquilt - those look great.

OK, so I was finally feeling well enough to think and cut and even sew. I decided to make my 1st round the one to make it a rectangle quilt. It works out size wise that the next round will have 4" finished blocks (5 across and 7 down). I will put the light green between each border, so the math might not be as easy next time! I should have time tomorrow afternoon to work on the next border.

Sorry the picture isn't cropped very well I am using DH's computer, trying to learn how to crop pictures using a Mac.
