Mirabelle...there always has to be a trailblazer on a pony ride. I'm looking forward to seeing your next 15. I've got to finish what's in my design wall so I can take a picture and I'll be right behind you. Hummmm that chicken was good. How does your son like having his own place?

I think if I had started the "ride" when everyone else did I would have been able to keep up, but playing catch up all the time makes it a little easier for me to just work on other stuff. Either way, I am having a great time with you all on the QB and have the motivation to keep moving forward.

For those doing "Rosie" I ordered my book and *will* get one block done a week (or at least will try very hard)!

Found out what is going on with my back and have an appt w/doctor who is going to do something called "dry needling" that should give me long term relief. Appt isn't until the middle of August though. Until then I will just keep doing what I can.

carriem, my doctor introduced us to a creme called: Thera-gesic. I apply it to my lower back every morning so I can go for the day. Great muscle relaxer..might want to check it out. Bayer also makes a back and neck pain pill that helps when the pain gets high on the scale of one to ten...a ten.

GGal970 my son loves his new home, DH is over there right now doing some man stuff. I have a quilt almost finished for him to put in his lounge room and another planned for his bedroom. He turns 31 in a few weeks (gee I'm feeling old) so I plan on buying him a piece of furniture he has his eye on.

Theragesic is a constant in my medicine cabinet especially after garden days. Yesterday DH had some time to haul dirt for me so we worked on my revamped flower bed. This one had gotten neglected and inaccessible when we built our new house 5 years ago. Needed to get rid of the eyesore. Most of the area looked like picture 1. Still have work to do, but it's a start and I can now mow around the exterior of the bed. Planning on putting in an asparagus bed in the center from the orange guy wires and to where the little yellow potty chair is sitting. Garden tools are to deter the dogs from cool wet dirt digging--hope it works. Have an old old door from the old house to decorate with garden art. Any ideas? Oh now that's an idea--clever! I had thought of making a WELCOME sign from old barbed wired for the door, but not sure it that's what I'd want next to the electric pole--hmm a ball of barbed wire would deter the dogs, too, but ouch for the gardner! Thanks, Anne

I also have an old screen from a wooden storm door window that I'd like to paint a USA flag or even a "quilt" on. Not sure where to put it although could hang it from one of the tree boughs. Ideas?

An olde bed frame, iron, if you have one for the flower 'bed'...barb wire and wire supports on pole are begging for clematis or rose to climb it. quick growing Morning glories would cover it this year. Watch for shade plants like impatient for the shady area or hosta plants. The more you add for fall color the less room dogs would have to dig... or chicken wire across the area or cross bar trellis down flat with plants in the open cross-section would keep the dogs from digging into the soil....

Do you want perennials or one season plants in the bed...easy to care for, or pamper them daily...or a mixture?? Zinnas and mums would make a quick fall bloom... tulips for next spring, Irises, peonies. A small tough for the pump with small flowering plants in it...like Pansy...four o'clocks. Or you could plant so it would form a quilt block in the cross section squares of the trellis on the ground....red, white, blue flowers...but I think fall colors would be neat..with a few pumpkins and squash and gourds and straw bales...scare crow...mums...in pots between the trellis...so you can change them out later...

OkSewGlad...you really got a lot accomplished in short order!...and QNSue...you are artist wherever you look! Keep us posted, Gladdie. Gardens have a way of evolving. It seems to me that they start talking to me after awhile about what they want to look like and somehow they just fit the place that they are in.
