Default FWS Pony Club QUILT Wk 4 Blocks "Basket of Flowers & Betty's Delight" DISCUSSION Pg

Hello Ladies --
I'm starting this week's FWS Pony Club threads on behalf of Honchey.
Some of you will have already seen her post on the general thread, started before the Quilt-Along began.

I tried to keep to the same format for the Titles of both threads for continuity.
However, I did need to alter them some, as there were just too many characters to fit into the allotted space.

So Ladies ... start chatting it up!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. ... I miss you Honchey!

I'm curious ... has anyone decided on their sashing yet???

Yes, me who has one block done, was very tempted today to purchase some sashing material.
I was good ... and resisted!

On the upside, I only have one more FWS block to do, officially (to complete all 111).
Unofficially .. I have four ... another #68 postage stamp, a 4-H and Log Cabin blocks.

And y'all know what that means for the PC ....... I'm hoping to be .........

I've decided on my sashing and border fabric, just have to order it. It will be the same fabric range that I am using, so hope it works when I have all the blocks finished (otherwise oops!!!!)

JeanieG .... oh no ... First I will work hard to do the catching up. AFter that my plans are not to move ahead of the posse, just stick with the group. There are so many other projects that I want to do ... including a plethora of those UFOs! I will confess I have stuck with the FWS pretty heavy duty, but that was mainly so I could be done it, before getting into the PC. Otherwise, no PC!! I just couldn't fathom a project so large as a UFO!!!

MiraBelle ... yea for you for making the decision. Once you get your sashing, then you'll know what you are working towards, and can somewhat decide on your block fabric placements to enhance the sashings. You have such a lovely group of fabrics ... it'll be nice to see what you have chosen. A blue? or?

I was thinking yesterday that "if" I chose the sashing, then I'd do that with my PC blocks. Two things stopped me in my tracks ... the question of why was I worrying about PC sashing, when I was not done FWS. And secondly, to atleast wait to make my decision til atleast a few were done and not just one!

On the FWS front ... getting close to the finish line made me nervous about my sashing and borders. I had enough of the green for the sashing, and definitely not enough for the borders and binding. I didn't want to take the risk of doing my sashing and not finding anything I'd be happy with for the borders, so knew I had to deal with that before I could start the sashing, which will be very soon. I was willing to look for just new border fabric .... but yesterday found the perfect replacement. No, not the same, but close enough that I know it will work. My LQS is calling her supplier today, to find out if she can get it for me ... or to tell her where I could buy it!! Yeaaaa ... moving ahead on that too!

I'm loving everyone's blocks. I do want to apologize for not being able to comment too often. Running around, taking care of mom, and today it's off to work. Please know I check out your pics and ooh and aah (and get funny looks from DH) but haven't had time to post. Keep up the great work. This thread is such a nice distraction from my "real life" LOL.

Mine will come later. I decided I wanted to see what others were doing before I did mine...and I'm totally immersed in a quilt for my granddaughter which I'm doing for Marti & Me Club. Today I hope to get it sandwiched and off my design wall. Then PC blocks before the week is over.

Anael ..... droooooooool! Beautiful, particularly the basket ... for some reason, I can see that one as a repeating one block quilt!

JanRN ... you impress me, that despite your hectic pace that you're finding time for yourself for some ooh and aaaah breaks. And making sure that you take time to sew too. Important!!! as that will help you keep your own batteries charged thru all this busy-ness! Keep taking care of you ... and you'll do a better job of taking care of the world.

GGal ... And .... we're all awaiting to see what the immersion is all about! There's an LQS here that runs the Marti + Me Clubs. Actually their whole store seems to be a Marti shrine!!! I haven't gotten involved, as the store is over an hour drive, and for short get togethers, it's just not worth my drive to haul everything around. I look at it as "if" I spent the driving time alone, I'm better to stay at home. To say the least about gas $ saved for fabric!!

I have no ideal what I am going to do with these blocks once I finish....I don't have anyone that will care one hoot! I just think the blocks are fun to do and I love the stories the kids have written about their ponies. I will watch what you all are doing pertaining to sashing and maybe get an idea.......I love what all of you are doing so far. Great eye candy!!!
