Good Sunday Morning Ladies ......
What a week!! A week ago, I was catching up from being away ... WORK and Christmas'ing to do!
Then ...
Mon ... made 3 evergreen wreaths and 10 swags; evening-spied a small river coming from the hot water tank; service call deemed that it was time for a new one
Tues ... installers to be here between 8am-noon, arrived after 2pm!; couldn't be near the computer in order to hear the doorbell when they came; meanwhile got the wreaths/swags hung!; back to catch up mode
Wed ... here at the computer all excited to catch up with you and then ... strange things were happening!!; called techie and yes, delivered computer for his TLC!
Wed/Thurs ... out of office WORK
Thurs ... computer back with beasties gone (aka rogue applications)
Thurs/Fri ... Christmas company; and yes, I cooked a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings
Fri night ... got computer back running after company gone; back into catch up mode!
Sat ... hair appt and errands; wicked storm; went to hair and skipped the rest

About the "beasties" in my computer ... BEWARE!!!
My techie was able to identify that the problems arrived via the illegitimate Java update (yes, I stupidly accepted it). I am seeing THE SAME mentioned in some of the threads in the "QB Help Centre".

While he had my system, he updated all, and sanitized it from all the different sorts of beasties that jump in and are beyond are removal by the normal software we have to protect our systems from such. Now here;s the interesting part ... the Java Update request has come back again.

Sooooooo .... be very careful ... if it is a pop up in the centre of your screen, DO NOT accept it. Delete it via your Task Manager. It looks very real ... similar logos, colours, etc .... If it is the real thing, it will show itself in the bottom right of your screen.

*sigh*
I'm deleting it via the Task Manager for now and will call Mr Techie on Monday ... so if I disappear ...........

Meanwhile I have been on the QB some, but had to save this one til I had a sit-down time to read it all .... so here it goes!!!
(pot of hot tea at the ready to keep me propelled thru all!!)

Beautiful block, Bev. QNS out did herself. Love the bright colors.

QE, I had computer problems last week. Kept getting an alert about updating my antivirus (McAfee) and you're right--it looked very official. Thankfully, I didn't open it but went directly to McAfee site and ran a full scan. It did pick up a few nasty viruses and removed them. So far, my computer is running faster and I can send and receive emails again. I couldn't open any programs at all; MrJanRN got into McAfee site somehow. Good reminder QE--I've also seen where a lot of people are having problems. Wonder if there are beasties connected to this site?

Oh my goodness ... I forgot, the most important part from this past week ..............
I mailed Miss December's MB last Monday 12/9!!
Do hope the huskies cooperate and get it to you before Christmas.

*gasp* ..... had to put this at the first, even though it;s at the end of what I have just read thru .......... MiraBs Bargello!!!!!!!! Stunningly Beautiful!

So good GrannyQ to see that you are doing so well with your treatments. Looks like you have bounced right back from your surgery, Anael and that you have now been sprung free by HomeCare!Of course, Anne keeps going like the Energizer Bunny with all her Christmas baking for DSis, and not letting her body interfere. And I suspect the same for CarrieM and her shoulder. Good luck with the new specialist! JanRN, hang tight and quilt your little out to help beat those blues away! Glad to see that all is going well with your eyes, QNSue. JanieW stay well please, for you are one busy (exhausted?) lady looking after the Grands and DDIL. Good Luck with the further tests, MiraB. And a broken for you and your DD definitely needs some retail therapy and a lunch! So sad for DDamsel and Anael as you remember your little ones, more broken ♥s. Best Wishes to any others who are dealing with health issues themselves, or for other family members.

Belated Happy Birthdays to Mr+MrsOKSGlad and what a birthday gift of twin grand-nieces!!! Wonder if they will be named after the two of you? What a shock in not knowing in advance there'd be two!

I see OKSGlad's fudge was gone in a flash ... though I can smell lots of good Christmas baking being done by you Ladies. And delicious pumpkin soup in the tropics!

QNSue ... thanks for the Christmas offer ... yes I would like a goodie or two, though I would fear that your/our border crossing people might confiscate it for their international Christmas GTG!

Lots of sewing being done too ... Christmas and otherwise. So much fun to see MiraBs Bargello grow into a real quilt. Lovely! GGal has a nice project coming up and I am already wondering what fabric/colour choices you will use. Smiling at Anael's Christmas hexie ... that was the pattern I was going to use for my Christmas exchange gift, but just couldn't find a combo in my stash! Now you have me envious. Just might have to do that for myself, right? (of course, I need more To Do's!). And then Sylvia coming together, as you get ready to start another! Lots of talk about other WIPs and future ones too!

JanRN, Spike quilting was not so hard when I did that tabletopper with the one block. Do some test runs first as to what needle size you might need to punch thru it all. I certainly did not avoid the multi-layers in the seams. So you are now mastering y=seams, I see!! Nice Block!

Great MBs with the GrannyQ/CarrieM, JeanieG/DublB and DublB/QNSue additions. Are there any more MBs that have been received, but yet to be shown to us yet? The music block will work into a nice quilt for your GrannyQDGS. I really like the colours/fabrics, subtle, yet bold in an unique way.

Good to see you back from your latest trip, JeanieG ... and good to know you helped the Phoenix economy. Good excuse, right? Yea for Christmas presents this year for you DDamsel ... you have that man trained!

Found OKSGlad's post that I was lurking ... and couldn't help but laugh!! Backtracked and that would be right when I was about to come and visit before I had to declare war on beasties in my computer!

And as for the suggestions that I, QuiltE has been in my sewing room ... I only whish!! Though I have got a wee bit done. Had to do Two DJs, thanks to JanRN!! (one thanks to the hot water heater guys; did it while they installed). Last night finally got started at my Christmas exchange gift. Today am planning to work on my giant one block quilt as need to have it done for later this week. But can I do it?

Thanks for the Welcome Back ... and yes, I hope I stay online, though there have been some strange things happening while I have been here, so not feeling overly confident. Will try to send a smoke signal if I am going to be off (last time, forgot and shut things down, too fast and then went oops!!!)

So the question that needs to banswered ........ has Anael ordered her crockpot yet?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS the top is finished ! ! ! No pictures, it's too dark and I have no idea where to take pictures so you can see the whole quilt. I'll try tomorrow.
Now I'll have a cup of coffee and finish watching my movie

While I was gone, I see you Ladies had some good discussion about our group and the future.

Oh yes, our group has been together thru so much these last few years and weathered through the highs and lows of life. So much that our virtual friendship has gone beyond and into another somewhat IRL dimension! I can hardly imagine life without each of you now!

For sure, I want us to stay together. However, as has been the case throughout FWS/PC, many have had other projects going on in the background and been involved in other groups and projects. Yet we seemed to always come home to FWS/PC! I'd say it's a testament to the success of our group that we are seeing the interest in new groups starting, with our FWS/PC'ers taking the lead. After all, we know that we cannot make new threads just for us, as was discussed long ago, when it was decided that we would do the MB swap within the PC thread and the Spikes as a new one.

CarrieM and Anael et al ... I would love to do the 50 Stars and Sylvias with you, though for now, I just have to sit by the wayside and oooh and aaah at what gets made. When I organized my UFOs, I truly did *gasp* ... knew they were there, but they became more real when I did that organization and vowed I had to be careful what I started aknew!! Maybe some day!

When we were considering new projects for the PC group (last winter/spring?) I believe these were discussed along with Dear Jane and a few others. Because there was no unified heart towards any one project, the MBs were started to give us something to come together.

So now, for the proverbial "Elephant in the Room" ... Dear Jane ... in those earlier discussions there was minimal interest here in PC (again, this is as I recollect). It kept calling me, and I finally decided it was just something I "had" to do. I shared that I knew I would not likely do it, without a group for encouragement and support, for I knew that I would never have completed the FWS/PC without the group. Though I knew I did not want a regimented BOM/BOW routine. It seemed that others (PC'ers and other QB'ers) felt the same if they were to do DJ. I knew I would not be ready til the winter and/or Christmas ... so here we are now! (BTW ... I do think some that said no initially, have now decided, oh yes!)

Somewhere along the way, some seem to think I would be starting a BOM type of thread. However, that was never the intent, but rather a general thread and let everyone work at their own pace and in their own routine [eg. # blocks per week, anal order (for Jan!), start at inside and work out (TATW) etc.] ... whatever worked for each person!!! The thought being that the thread would be a place to come together to nudge and encourage, ask for help, get answers, and of course, a place to post pics of blocks completed and get that much needed support to trundle on when the going gets tough!!

It seemed my thoughts were not unique as many saw DJ as a background project, to do in between other projects/quilts, etc. In my case ... when I feel like doing it!! I know having a group for some accountability, will help me keep plugging away at it.

If someone wishes to lead a DJ BOM/BOW/BOEOW group, please approach PatriceJ, to make the arrangements. For sure, I'll encourage and support you in the upstart and as the group proceeds.

I will still start a thread as promised earlier.
I look forward to hearing more comments and feedback.

Here's to a continuation of our Friendships, here on this PC thread ...
... and in many other projects outside of it.
Besides we still have a group job to do ...
... there's still some PCs that we need to help get across the finish line!

I was missed the time deadline .......... so I will add here

It certainly was NEVER my intention to sabotage the PC group. Definitely NOT!
It was merely an idea that came together, when so many clearly said no to DJ.
For sure, I can respect that, just as I hope that others respect my decision against 50 Stars and Sylvia. For those that have/had concerns, I hope that you can understand. And if something is still of concern, I hope you will discuss it here openly with all, as suggested by Honchey, earlier.

Our group is too valuable for me, for it to be hurt in any way.

So, tell me QuiltE, how did you try to sabotabe the PC group? I don't understand.
A new DJ thread has not been started yet but will be soon. It seems a lot of members want to finish their DJ and others start a DJ. Yes, also PC members, me included. I want to finish mine.
I respect any decision, be it for or against DJ, Sylvia, 50 Stars or whatever. I do hope we will stay together as friends here in 'our' PC thread where we tell eachother what's going on in our lives, where we find comfort and joy.
