Honchey I hope life settles down for you in the New Year, am thinking of you.

QuiltE when are you going to have time to put your feet up and rest a while, your sewing room might become an alien place to you if you're not careful just kidding.

I planned on spending the day putting a couple of rows on my Jamestown Landing quilt and cutting my patches for my bonus blocks, but I got sidetracked found these wonderful embroidery designs when tidying up some files on my laptop and just had to stitch them out. My DD loves butterflies so we may have to work on another joint project next year..

They haven't been pressed yet, scanned them and e-mailed them to DD for her opinion. I'm thinking of an Irish Chain setting what do you think???

Oh and they are quite large, 7 inches which is a great size, will cut the block down to 9 1/2 inches

That all I have to say now

Mirabelle...those are beautiful! The batiks are perfect for the butterflies. Would you use batiks in the Irish Chain too?...just the corner squares using the colors you've used for the butterflies? The butterscotch is a perfect background.
Honchey...glad you keep tabs on us. We don't want to go too far astray.
Quilte....thanks for the thread info. I too use Arifil and really like it. It will be fun for you to get home next week and see the house ready for the holidays. Can't wait to see your GFG. Such a nice way to get your quilting in.

mirabelle, I wish we were closer than this virtual world travel with all my batiks, I could share, but your idea is so breathe taking beautiful...love all the butterflies, especially the first and last ones. JeanieG can tell you about all the different colors that I have on hand.

QuiltE, its good that you can get your two cents worth in, I miss you when you are not aboard here. Honchey, I love hearing your two cents worth again, too. Hoping you win BIG at your Bingo games.

Never heard of that thread but will be checking it out; where can one find it?? Brrr...its cold here this morning...down to 12 above according to my weather on the computer.

Mirabelle, Those butterflies are gorgeous!!! I have 2 emb machines and only do little emb's once in awhile....I wish I could be more enthusiastic about doing embroidery... Talking about De...I just decided to visit for several days not to play bingo tho...I'll be picking up some See's Chocolate (California Brittle is my favorite) that DS ordered....She loves "Croc's" and they had a great cyber sale ending yesterday...Buy one get one..free shipping! so now I'll have a pair for each location..NJ & NC...
QNS, Brrrrrrr 12 degrees??? cold, cold, cold, I hope you have warm slippers for those cold floors...see..I do read the threads
Oksewglad, after seeing your mini quilts I'm separating bits and pieces....someday...
Dublb....your Texas Twang is rubbin' off me...
I've never used Arifil...What's special about it??? Is it 100% cotton? "Fil"me in
Ggal, I've become too attached to all of you to let go astray.....What a wonderful group we have here!!
I have a question....How do you insert the laughing face...not the smiley into the threads...

I'm watchin' my DGson taday. Hooray!
Aurifil thread is made with longer strands o' cotton. It is 50wt & very strong, but it is thinner than other 50wt's. It doesn't make as much lent. I love it. I sometimes use Gutterman if I just need a little bit o' that color & am short on $$$.

I have always used Gutermann; I watch for JoAnns for it going on sale. It works well with my Bernina 1540 quilting sewing machine I bought in 199? at Houston's International Quilt Show. It still sits on the old typewriter stand...someday maybe I will get a real sewing machine table...when dh does not have million different ways for the budget has to go...like when pigs will fly...he is still a keeper after 46 years, plus.

Every winter morning when I hit the floor that is put on a cement slab, I wish for the floor warming floors. First thing after Taxes (Missouri taxes are due in November-December, you have to pay full amount assessed by state/county) , is another small heater for my sewing room. Tax paying on retirement kills all Christmas thoughts and wishes every year...by now, I should be getting used to it. Gotta support the prison system and those that do not work. Our freezers are full and propane tank filled, so we can still smile this year.

It was a good T. week, with our dd and family on the weekend, and 19 on T. Day. And to see all the chatter here, it is just wonderful. Pony Club scraps are all gone, and received well in their new home. Now to get the blocks ready to sew together...after I get that small heater for the sewing room!!
