QNS, received a package yesterday and couldn't wait to open it up...lots of goodies in there...will be having some of them with my morning coffee...Thank You so very much...
I love Christmas...why is it that I become a bah humbug about a week before...I think maybe trying to do the impossible with getting everything done and know you can't???
I attended a holiday get together at the gallery last Saturday and a customer brought in a BOM quilt that completed as a QAYG....it turned out so nice....I might try it with a bunch of orphan blocks....
gonna go have my cookies now..

I think I have heard from everyone except Dublb....of the seven...enjoying their cookies, tea, coffee. Dublb, the fabric failed to jump into the box, but that will come at a later time...so let your dh and dc enjoy the sweets. It was so nice to have the opportunity to do some baking for Christmas; brought back tons of good memories.

Now to finish the last three boxes to Texas, and get it all out of the house before dh eats more than he should with his diabetic two condition. With his new Ninja professional blender he has lost from 295 lbs down to 262 lbs since the week before Thanksgiving. Taking a break from the kitchen at Christmas, no special plans at all, no jolly Saint Santa to arrive here, just bah humbug, another day to try to figure out what to do with our time...and smile at each other.

Alright ladies, I need some motivation here--like a good swift kick to my behind. I have four rows sewn together for PC and I hit a wall. I want to try another pattern or make a bag or something. I just don't need another UFO so I sort of promised myself I wouldn't start anything new til at least all the PC rows are joined. So instead of hitting the sewing room, I went shopping all morning (in the rain). I guess if I spend enough time playing around here it will be "too late" to sew. Please--a little help here LOL. Oh wait--I have gifts to wrap. No, Jan--go put more blocks together.....

Jan, I won't be much help because I find the best way for me to get through, around, under, or over a wall is on the back of something new. Maybe you could take out something from that box in your closet and practice on your new toy. Don't worry about how they look together. Not a totally new project but a real change of activity. Remember quilting is to be primarily relaxing and fun. The hard places need to be spaced out so we keep going for the fun stuff.

Some times I try ta reward myself. Try don' a row, then as a reward, do something more fun, like part o' a new project. Notice I said, part. Ya can't do it all, 'cause ya gotta do another row before ya allow yourself ta do more o' the fun thing. Clear as mud??

You are way ahead of me Jan. My PC blocks are in two drawers, just sitting there while I do "other" things. I've done a couple of my BB, just to see whether I like them or not. They are up on my display wall, and I do like them! I'm up to date so far this year on my Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt. Real pretty colors, although it is really bright (turquoise, purple, lime green, grey and white on black). I've finished my Christmas shopping and have only a few things to wrap. I've got all my stuff ready to bake cookies, but I don't start too soon, as hubby and I will eat them. I freeze them immediately and don't bring them out until Christmas eve!

QNS's cookies arrived yesterday, and already Joe and I have made a dent in them. Had tea and cookies last night for a late night snack! Yummy!

I like the reward system. I did get 2 more rows done. This is why I like to do QAYG and why I bought the Sweet16--I hate the quilting part. I'd make hundreds of blocks or quilt tops but I need to find a "partner" who doesn't like to piece but likes to quilt. Imagine how productive we'd be! No more UFO's! Hopefully, after the holidays I'll be more motivated. I've always had bouts of depression (seasonal) and it's especially bad right now. We haven't seen the sun in 10 days. I guess I'm just having a pity party and drug yinz along with me. Sorry about that! Thanks for the encouragement and I'll have to practice the reward system although I always think about food as a reward LOL.
