QNS...you're a step ahead if me. I also use self rising flour! I use the recipe on the bag...adding butter and milk. This isn't bisquick. The secret I learned from my Mom is to stir it as little as possible. I add more flour than QNS so I can pat it out. Use a rolling pin if you like.

I forgot the walnut sized hunk of butter in the date candy. In hindsight, I think my Mom used cream rather than milk. I'll try that next time.

Finished cutting out the BB and most of them started assembling. Fun thinking of all of you. Have a wonderful evening and tomorrow with your loved ones!

Christmas greetings from Iowa. We've been enjoying goodies from Missouri--cowboy cookies the biggest hit. DS and GF came last night--they helped milk while oldest DS and family could spend Christmas Eve with her family. Wed the Wisconsinites come. Santa has one more gift to finish and then (s)he can start wrapping. Good thing gift opening is not until Thursday!!
And like dublb will resurface after the New Year; maybe I can read all the posts and catch up.
May your lives be filled with the spirit of Christmas.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I have been making potato rolls all day, my grandkids love them! Got everything under control (I hope) for tomorrow - dinner at 4:00, opening gifts after, then dessert. Will have 21 for dinner (buffet style), it will be very crowded in my home! It is just nice to sit down for a while tonight, I think I have been on my feet all day!

Love your front porch, QuiltE!! I used to decorate my big work area with snowmen, so I could retain them up until February....love how the snowman looks. Looks so welcoming the way you put it together.

Honchey, enjoy your time with your sister; and the setting up again in NC.

Hope your hosting Jeanie, turns out wonderful. Same with OksewGlad and their opening of all the gifts on Thursday.

I have learned not to expect any gift from dh...everything is all him and not for anyone else...he has never truly learned the value of giving or caring for anyone except himself and probably never will...that is life. No Christmas tree or decor in the house. I did fix him Shrimp for a special lunch yesterday. and myself tacos.

Peace with you and yours....Happy Holidays to all.

I really miss all the decorating we used to do....now we just hang a wreath by the doorway and have a tree...I'll never forget the one year I told my son to get the xmas tree...it, of course was too tall so I told him to cut it... instead of cutting off the trunk area..he cut the top 2 feet off...We put it up anyway after the manicure we had to perform on the rest of the tree...I wasn't in a good mood for a long time after that fiasco...We all enjoyed the rest of your cookies last night...I especially liked the ones with the cranberries? and little chips... next favorite was the little round ones...I can't name them cause I don't know which ones are which....It's too bad that some Bah Humbugs don't feel the Christmas spirit.....I really enjoy the first couple of days with my DS after that we start to nitpick each other..our hubby's know not to interfere if you know what I mean..
Oh the horrible weather in some parts of the country...Blizzards, tornadoes,snow...I hope all of you in that area are safe ...I won't be doing any sewing for a day or two...have to finish gathering my projects for when I'm away...have to make a list so I don't forget anything...will check in later...
