Carriem age doesn't matter when you quilt, it bridges all barriers, my DD attended her first patchwork class at age 8 when she learned how to use a rotary cutter, make templates, sew a straight seam and make her first of many cushions, and she has been creating ever since.

Anael I love your assembly line, I am sure that keeping busy making designer outfits during the past few months has been very therapeutic for you.

Will start calculating the compass yardage tomorrow, I am thinking of making 2 of every one which will give me 36 blocks. Might make it for my DS so colour range will be limited. I have been busy today working on another MB for who ???? only me knows I already have April's block made, just trying to stay ahead a little, while trying to get some ufo's finished

They say wisdom comes with age; guess I have not come of age yet...or I missed that bandwagon... each day gives us blessings that we can be thankful for and celebrate regardless of age. After all, we have a wonderful group here on B that we get to communicate daily on, around the world. It still amazes me; I would have never guessed times would evolve into times like these.

As far as tunes go, how many remember, "Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail..."

Love our pacing right now, leaving time to do a few other things and not get behind on our mystery blocks. For some reason my rows of PC are not hanging down evenly...three rows are off by couple of inches....guess I will try pressing them first...and seeing if I 'stretch' the row a bit.

Dh moved the duck shed yesterday and discovered two nests inside, so now I have 3 dozen duck eggs to cook with over Easter...which is good, 'cause all the hen eggs I sold. Income tax is all done, big refund coming back, and dh told me to think of a new sewing machine and/or cabinet. Wow! That is a first in forty-seven years. So next month's FART trip will be a special one.

Anael, your new machine looks great, and that is quite a line up of machines you have. Enjoy.

Love the pic of your GS's, Anne. When growing up we colored eggs the night before Easter. I remember going to church on Sunday with brightly colored fingers! Mom always made sure we had our little white gloves on--not so much to look like little ladies but to hide the stained fingers LOL. Did yinz all get new Easter outfits? We did--always included new patent leather shoes and a coat and a hat (Catholic girls had to wear hats in church).

QNS, yay! on the new machine and/or cabinet. You're so right about wisdom coming with age----I'm still waiting for wisdom but the age is creepin' up. I really feel old right now--my DGS is turning 20 on Sunday! DGD is 16 (going on 25 LOL) so I'm reminded that, yes, I am 64 even tho I think I'm in my 40's.

Carrie your quilts are so beautiful that I was surprised that you don't FMQ.

Anael, just think--it's the babies first Easter! Lots of "firsts" to come!!

Jan, I was thinking about this comment last night and remembered what nice quilting you had done on the PC blocks. You do know how to FMQ. You just have to say sweet things to your Sweety and let her know that you're in charge. You're doing a slow waltz and she is off on a quick step. Tell her you want her close and slow so she can hear all the wonderful plans you have for your life together and that once she learns your pace, you will lead her into her beloved quick step. The motion with the fabric is the same as you did before, the feeddogs were down too, you just went slower than Sweetie wants to go now. This is all easy for me to say since I'm not in your shoes. I'm just trying to give you a different perspective and change those heart palpitations from dread because she is leading to affection because you're leading and truly enjoy one another! BTW....what have you named her?

The sun is a-shining!!
Just had to see how many of you remember this one!!

JanRN
... I'm sharing this sun with you, and hoping that you're getting some of it down your way ITL! ... bright as can be and a bright blue sky with it!

MiraB ... so GGal's tracking BBs, I'm tracking PCs and you're keeping the master birthday list? I hit the big 6-0 earlier this month. Nice of you to offer to calculate the Compass Block background fabrics ... do you have a program to do so? or you just enjoy painstakingly sitting down to calculate? After DH heads back to work (that's three weeks, less two days, right? ... you can go out and get your very own S16!

Anael ... Love your Little Workshop! Hope that you are keeping a journal for the kids ... perhaps with samples of the fabrics, and the patterns too. They'll have fun looking at it in years to come. And be sure to include one of the diapers from the hospital! A friend's DGGD was a teenie one too, and she showed us the diaper ... how miniscule! Speaking of Easter outfits ... do you have bunny suits for them, for Easter?

QNSue ... wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! a new machine! ... and what will you chooose? Yipppeeeeeeeeee!!!! Of course, I have many fond memories of singing Peter!!!! OBTW ... I have been known to change my voicemail message with a line or two from such seasonal songs!

And now everyone can travel down memory lane with Gene Autry, to get into the Easter spirit .........

JanRN ... you had me chuckling at those Catholic girls with white gloves to hide the stains! Presbyterian kid here, we always had our gloves and hats for church ... and I always loved wearing hats, still do! In spring we'd have lacy white gloves to wear.

GGal ... good sweet talk to JanRN and her Sweetie!
hhmmmmm ... maybe a S16 is in order for you, QNSue? Yesssssssss!!!!
IF and it's a big IF, I ever get a S16, would you please come and hold my hands too?

DDamsel ... so do tell the #!!!!!! So you're telling me that I could be your Mother!!!!!!!!! SURE, call me OLD!
Now here's your *giggle* of the day .......... when I read your comment I read it as ... "Nope I dont need the SUGAR manual for anything EXCEPT my hand written notes doodled inside :S" and then went huh???? Oh my ... and I haven't even been into the Easter candies!!! BTW I want to see pics of those blue eyed freckled kids (with red hair per chance?) covered in their Easter chocolate!

We never had to wear hats to church or gloves! I don't like hats, only wore one once, when I got married.

No QuiltE, I didn't make the twins bunny suits I told my DDIL I could make them outfits in yellow with little chickies but she didn't want me to. I know she has a tiny diaper and we're saving their smocks. I'm going to make a quilt with those smocks, maybe use the hats too.

QNS, how exciting! A new machine to play with.

DD, please, pics of your boys We love to see pics!

I'm never going to be able to comment to everyone but I just have to say that QNS your drawings are absolutely phenomenal. I would kill to be able to draw like that.

Honchey, loved the pictures of you grandsons. They each have their own little twinkle in their eye that suggests I would love to meet them.

DD
your eagle picture was really cool. I loved the eagle, but the setting, with the abandoned home and the tree was quite emotional.

Anael, As always pictures of those babies just makes me feel so good. Congrats on the new machine.

JanRN This year I made myself a promise that I would practise my FMQ faithfully. I always wanted to do it and I just wanted to sit down and expect it to be good right off the bat. Of course that's not how it works. I watched a million videos and made a gazillion pot holders and mini quilts for the grandkids' stuffies. The videos that really resonated with me were Pasty Thompson's. http://www.patsythompsondesigns.com/free-video/

Scroll down to the Video 3 of 4 where she is working on pink fabric. I watched that so many times I could see it in my sleep. It seemed to really help me get the idea of smoothly moving the fabric. I am now comfortable enough to FMQ my donation quilts for my preemies and actually let other people see it.

Can't stay on the computer long so forgive me if I miss anyone. Have a good Easter weekend all.

Oh btw I turned 62 in February.

Edited to add:

For anyone who needs a good chuckle this one does it every time

Thank you all for your comments on my grandkids...They came into my life starting at 65 so I had to wait a looooong time for them...a far cry from my Mom...she became a GM at the age of 38....

I'm getting things in order for my trip...can't pack the car yet 'cause DH is using trunk space for his golf clubs...Which he is using today!!!! tomorrow will be the day "stuff" goes in the car....I can't wait...I'm getting antsy waiting...he does this ALL the time...as I "ready" things I stack them by the garage door...I am fortunate that I don't have to cart machines back & forth anymore...
Oh, Easter...of days gone by....going shopping for the new outfit from top to bottom!!! ....then shopping for the fish on Friday...Kielbasa & rye bread for Saturday when my Grandma would make a white borsht with hard boiled eggs quarted and the kielbas sliced floating in it...My Dad loved it...I would only look at it...never ate the soup...The priest coming to the house to bless the bountiful table.....On Good Friday (Today) we all had to stop doing whatever we were doing...at precisely one o'clock ? and say prayers because that was the time Jesus died on the cross....So much has changed since then ..it seems we made time for all the rituals for that time...My GM was the best baker and egg dyer...Pysanky eggs were nothing new to her...I used to watch her..a straight pin stuck in a pencil eraser then into a candle flame then into a wax she would make intricate designs on the blown eggs then into the dye...I wish I had some of those eggs now..they were really beautiful.....Ahhh...traditions & memories... Hope all of you have a memorable and heartfelt Easter this year...now it's time to go back to the plan of the day.. it's almost one o'clock and time for a prayer...
