That is so cute, thanks for sharing Mirabelle. I would probably trip over him, I have not had a dog in so long.

Mirabelle, did she SID between the blocks and between all the different parts of the blocks? That gives you an idea of how to proceed with your flower quilt. I noticed on my practice quilt I had to SID so it would lay flat and mark the flower triangles. I hope I make sense
I love the quilting of the flower quilt!

QuiltE, I need lessons from Mirabelle myself !!

OK, your hexi flimsy is gorgeous! So much patience!!

I finished the first block of Ode to my Mom since september last year. Here it is. It's block # 1 Homespun. I don't do them in any particular order so it's not the first block I made for this one

Anael my longarmer did SID in the sashing strips and around the squares and triangles in all of the blocks, the pictures just don't do it justice. Will sew the binding on tomorrow and then it is ready for me to hand stitch while I watch TV at night.

I have the first 5 blocks quilted on Daisy and I have SID down the centre of each block to make sure it doesn't have a bulge along the centre seam line where the quilting meets. That makes sense doesn't it.

What a beautiful block Anael, perfect piecing and I love that centre fabric, it is gorgeous..

I'm sitting with my laptop on my lap..eating my cereal and browsing thru the pages and when seeing all the blocks of Mirabelle's quilt it brought back all the memories of the weekly challenge and I'm smiling... did we really do 2 blocks a week??? what an undertaking to say the least!!!
Mirabelle, it's a beautiful quilt...a testament to all your talent and perserverence...what an accomplishment...Kudos to your LAQ for adding to the beauty of this quilt...I hope you're going to enter it. You should also send a photo to Laurie when you get a full quilt photo...
DH decided to take me to Wilmington...He didn't want me to go alone being I'm not too familiar with the city...That's good 'cause now I won't have to be back in 4-5 hours to pick him up from playing golf..
Now for a cup of coffee, get dressed and off we go........

Mirab, that is amazing, I'm in awe. Your piecing and color choices are awesome and the quilting is beautiful--it enhances rather than detracts from your blocks. Love your dog. We never had dogs growing up so the first time I saw our dog laying like that I thought he was dead!!! And yes, Jeanie, I still trip over Patches occasionally.

OK, love your little hexies. What size are they? I think I'd like a light blue or light green background.

Anael, glad you're getting back to your mom's quilt; love the green & purple combination.

QE is right---please give lessons on FMQ. I'm still getting jaggy edges instead of smooth curves. Like Dublb, I'm practicing my heart out. Just can't get "smooooooth".

Anne, keep that GPS handy. Can't have our "trail leader" get lost.

Ggal, did you get those nasty thunderstorms yesterday? We got them last night but today the air smells so fresh and clean.

Have a great sewing day, all.

Mirabelle, great job on the quilt; I would spend hours just looking at it and touching it, feeling it here and there with my hands....do keep us in the loop with the prize ribbons it wins! Cute guard dog...loveable for sure.

Honchey, you gotta report to us about those quilt shops you are checking out, so we feel like we are along on the trip, too! Good that mr. Honchey is with you; lets hope he does not get lost!

I love your block Anael. Its good that you feel like beginning that again.

Nice chat going on this morning. Keep it up today....I need to see everyone's news today. OKsewGlad, you must be very busy, missed the update on your gds reactions...

Jan, how do you practice? Do you draw first and quilt over it? I did when I started learning FMQ. I won't say I never get jaggy edges but not often. I still take a practice piece when I want to do FMQ, just to get the hang of it again. There's too much time in between, sometimes I don't do FMQ for months. So I don't practice a lot.

Good morning all-don't worry Honchey I get sore from just sitting too! Fish oil has helped the arthritis in the hips and back so I can do things to create sore muscles Have a fun FART

Thanks for the comments on the flimsy. I may have a green I can try. Will look for a blue too. I don't have many solids, and think this is crying for a solid. What about a hot pink or a purple? carrie and Jan, they're 1/2" sides.

mirabelle and Anael we are all envious of your FMQ talents. Nice to see you back on your mom's quilt, A. I know I sighed so many times over your quilt in the block stage, m. And they have multiplied. Then the first block you show us is the beautifully pieced block that I tried and tossed. What a treasure this is!

QNS--oh yes girls loved the fabrics! Kitty cats were a big hit and we are thinking of using them as focus fabrics in sundresses! Raining again. Are you staying high and dry QNS?

Milk check day so that means bookwork day.

I'm going to try to post a link to the picture of the Star quilt that was taken at the LQS last Friday.

We are on a hill on one of the highest elevation points of North Central Missouri, about a thousand yards from US Highway 136, so yes, we are dry...but have enjoyed the rain.

Downloaded info on the Iowa Shop Hop to begin on June 1 to 20. How exciting!!
