What a high note to come home to mirabelle! Janie--you did such a great job complementing the other blocks.

QNS--sorry your machine is not what you expected. Once you get to feeling better I hope you can get to know the machine better and utilize the features it does offer you.

I'm so reluctant to pull oxalis (the little yellow flowered weed) cuz it's as pretty as apicture, but it does self seed extremely well. I have a variety that has red leaves and stem as well.

We'll be gone for 8 days--we've no worries about "kids" handling the job while we are away; we are behind on so much work that it just adds to the work load and hope all goes well while we are gone. Ran after soybeans today so hopefully will get them in the ground today. DS cut hay and winter rye yesterday. Shhh we may get it up with no rain.

Jan, that FMQ you did on your quilt is just great. I don't think you need more quilting - it would make it like cardboard - not soft and cuddly like it is now!

Mirabelle - great new block that Janie sent you. So great to see all four together!

QNS - yes it takes a while to get over that crud! It took me over three weeks, with two sets of antibiotics. I napped each day too - Mucinex does that to me too, or maybe I just needed the sleep to get well.

Talked to the Insurance Agent yesterday and he is putting a check in the mail for all the work that needs to be done. I sent my Contractor the paperwork that he emailed me, so hopefully something will get started soon. I don't know how busy the contractor is right now, so we will see.

I bought the machine to embroidery outline of guitars on 120 blocks for BIL; told dealer that was why I was buying it. Complained to the Bernina Company on line and they replied, the dealer had the software, Coral draw essentials and designer, to make the original drawings into patterns for the machine. So I called up the dealer in Des Moines and ask about it. Yes, she could order that but it would cost me $2355.00 for the program. That's more than double what I gave for the machine, ladies!! And she could not take it back 'cause I had sewed on it. No, I said, its just like it came home from the shop 'cause I was trying to get the right pattern. So she is taking the drawing I have, to see if she can find someone to run it through their program, and give me the pattern for my machine. Time will tell.

Took the Levofloxacin 500 mg (generic sub levaquin 500 mg) this morning with the Mucinex; and had to sleep for a while...woke up and called dd to wish her a Happy Birthday, received a call from bf and a neighbor, one after another. Bf is feeling better and wants to go to DM tomorrow, so I said Ok, I am ready. Will take the medicine when I get to her house tomorrow....maybe. Unless I am having too much fun. Maybe it will turn into a FART trip!

Note to self: collect those orphan blocks 'cause they have found a home to go to.!! Thanks GG.


Jeanie, I hope all moves forward for you...and the insurance $$ will loom big in the contractor's eyes and he will come immediately and do a very good job for you.

Iowa Ladies ... my goodness, 82 stores!!! I'll sit here and be totally envious. The 9 shop Hop next month will seem minimal compared to what you have. How has the action been at your LQS, CarrieM? Have you been getting extra hours as a result?

OKSGlad ... what are you going to do with the fabric? Your hexies will turn into a lasting memory of your trip!

MiraB ... oh oh as to the Dr's diagnosis. Take care of it though, as bursitis can be nasty, and sneak up on you fast. Yes, chain piecing would be a tad on the repetitive motion concept. I like Anael's concept of non-repetitive!

I'm lucky ... when my chiro reminds me something is quilting caused, she fully understands .... her sister is a quilter! So she works with me on it, recognizing it might be better to let me quilt, than to see me go off the deep end and need a shrink!

Anael ... With your enabling and encouragement, I predict that MiraB's shopping might result in yet another sewing machine! Definitely good medicine!!! Another pretty picture .... I saw the 3-leaves and reminded me of some I have here in the grass. I always call it yellow clover, and did some surfing to see it's proper name is oxalis which I see OKSGlad called it too! It can be quite invasive, though it can be pretty too ... so consider that a weed is only something growing where you don't want it to be, and if you like it, and want it ........... ENJOY IT!! Mine is in the lawn, so I just enjoy its prettyness when it flowers, and otherwise, it's just kept in the grass. When some jumps in the flower bed, it pulls out easy enough, that it doesn't bother me!

Golden Syrup ... I know there was a recipe here on the QB with it. Many were talking about what it was and how they made it. Here in Canada, if I see Golden Syrup in a recipe, to me, it's what we call Corn Syrup ... a commercially made syrup, sweet and sticky, but definitely NOT maple syrup! Nor is it interchangeable in a recipe.

JanRN ... hope you did your all day sewing today ... and no side trips to xxxxxx!!!! AT LAST ... we get to see Christmas Rosie and for sure, nothing of which to be ashamed. You've done a wonderful job and I'm SO proud of you!!! I forget ... Rosie blocks were which size? Great fabric choices all round!

QNSue... my goodness ... you are doing 120 guitar blocks? I know they are for your BIL, but what does he need 120 for? A club?

Chatty much? ... just took a look at that embroidery thread. My goodness, they are only at post #1856 ... and they have been going for 3-1/2 yrs. hhmmmmm? what does that say about us?

JeanieG ... that sounds like good news and that progress up to you to sort out with the contractor. You're lucky that they are paying out early ... I hope for your good, that the costs do not rise as the job proceeds.
