The weather was strange here taday. It was a hot mornin', bright & sunny. DH & I went ta Lowes & then ta Brunch at about 10:30. Lorie's was very busy so we were there a long time. While we were there we looked out the windows ta see the trees & flags bein' wipped by the wind & the sky was brown. Yes we had a good ol' W. Texas sand storm. After we finished eatin' at around noon the haze was pretty bad. We could only see 3 blocks ahead. After goin' ta Ace Hardware we headed home & DH did a repair. He then tried ta take a nap, but failed, so we went back ta Lowe's at about 3:00. The sky was clear & it was hot again. (102*F) Can ya believe it? Then at 11:00pm we had a thunderstorm. Hooray!!!! It lasted about 14 min.'s.

Wow Bev, what a day full of weird weather! We are having a heat wave here on the California Coast. Got to 90* today, which is very high for us. Our average temperature is around 75* this time of year. It is 78* right now at 10:00 p.m.

Our average temp is in the 90's but this week we were in the triple digits w/Tues bein the hotest at 108*F. We'll have a cold front come through & it'll be in the lower 90's & upper 80's next week. Ahhhhhh.

Oh boy everybody's weather sounds crazy,

Honchey glad that the tornado decided to go away,

It has taken to two days to get this pieced together, just have to quilt it. The designs are machine embroidered applique, they are really cute, I already had them done.

Hope I can get some quilting in this week but it is going to be a little crazy, Monday MUST clean house, Tuesday MUST go grocery shopping Wednesday drive to Townsville for Scan and do a "little" shopping with DD, Thursday drive to Patchwork (staying at DD's Thursday night) Friday go to embroidery club then drive home early as DH is driving to Port Douglas to go reef fishing on a chart boat for the weekend. phew I am tired already...

Sound like a full week, Mirabelle. I love the quilt; it is so cute and those wonderful words, "Its done!" Love it when a project comes together and is done. And your projects are so wonderful and great to view. Sigh, now if you could pass along some of your energy as well, I might get more done....LOL!!

Honchey, so good of the storm not to hit where you are, but its scary just to know about one sooo close. Hope Mr. Honchey finds relief for his blisters and burn.

Maybe this week my MB will come....

Thanks for the kind words QNS, and I hope you are feeling better, mmm energy, my only trick is I drink a LOT of coffee and not that instant kind, the real thing. My coffee machine grinds the beans and makes a great long black.. I'm not that fussed about cappuccinos, I prefer strong black coffee..

Even the so called 'experts' will argue the pros and cons of drinking coffee. Pick any subject, e.i., even weather, and you will get a difference of opinion. knowledge.facts..that always support what that person is saying. 'Thin' is bad; fat is better, just anything has its pros and cons, so you can always say that, 'you' are right! Guess it boils down to the unique one of a kind personality and way of thinking. And that is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Look for trouble and you will find it. Look for beauty to admire and you will find it. But to create beauty, that is a wonderful talent that you have the ability to do that I enjoy viewing...from around the world. It just makes the world a better place. Thank you.

QNS, I love those last words you typed: look for beauty. That's what I love about this PC thread. Everywhere you look there's another beautiful quilt, block, WIP, project, etc., to admire. And then there are all of yinz...what a beautiful group of friends. Thank you, QNS, for reminding us to look around!

QNSue ... right on! so many things have two sides to them. The important thing is to remember life is not all black and white. While we are philosophizing ..... Is the glass half full? or half empty?

When I count my blessings, QuiltE, the cup overflows. So many things to be thankful for. Especially, the FART trips and look at this shop here, all the beautiful treasures awaiting just to come home with me.!

Going on FART trips, I count my blessings, time spend with good Friends enjoying the day! They call my attention to beautiful things that I may have overlooked!

I count my blessings when I am privileged to see wonderful talent and abilities of others on this PC trail in the lovely blocks and quilts they have put together. And thankful that they have shared with me.
