No hero for me ..... it was just what had to be done.

And this wasn't a regular house-to-house move. I had to finish emptying the farm of stuff ... and downsize from a <3500+ sq ft farm house to >1500 sq ft. It wasn't just the packing, cleaning and move, but the decisions of what to eliminate and what to do with it all that took really took the toll !

No wonder I say they can take me out of here in a pine box ...... and someone else can deal with all the stuff!!!

Honchey - that is really a neat mirror. I have seen them, but never used one! Great!!!

Mirabelle - gosh, you just don't slow down! Wonderful new quilt, and darling embroidered ladies too!

QuiltE - the last side of the backsplash will be installed on Monday, then they will grout it! That is it!!!!!! Hurrah!!!! Expect photos of finished kitchen next week everyone!

QNS...I hope you can get some relief for your knee. From the looks of your kitchen and all that has been accomplished the past couple of weeks, it doesn't sound like you have given it much rest. I too like your SYE wedge.
Jeanie...hooray for the last if the construction! I too have several books I thought I just had to have. I've used a couple of them and they do have such good eyecandy. I'm waiting to find the new fall Quiktmaker magazine where I've purchased them in the past but without success. I might have to break down and subscribe to them.
Mirabelle....what magic you make with thread and fabric! I would love to be a fly on your wall for a week. I know I would learn so much.
Carrie....a neat picture if the plane and quilt. What a nice tribute to a lasting friendship by your DH.
Jan...hope they find your replacement soon so you don't have to drive to work in the snow this winter. I know how you love that.
Janie...I'm happy you like the block. It was my first try at doing the flying geese block with the Quilt in a Day method and I like how they turned out. Sorry that you're not feeling well.
OK...how nice that you are finding some relief from Ilean. I'm looking forward to seeing your new sewing room setup.
Bev...you can see the finish line! Will you do a sale by owner? I'm anxious to see your new sewing room set up. It has nice space. Have you used your embroidery machine much?
DD...I see that had a lot if snow in the western mountains. Any in your neighborhood? I'm glad you liked those links. So many ways with such different results with the same blocks.
QuitE....have you got Frosty 2&3 figured out? Your Thanksgiving is coming up too, isn't it? These months are flying by so fast!
Honchey...send those blues away, don't let them stay. Easy for me to say, huh? Just take care of yourself. You're special.
Anael...poor Bram. He is a fighter though so I'm sure he will make it though this. I'm glad they found the infection now to find what's causing it. And you....may you soon feel much better.
All at once my toe is not so tender and I can actually walk with little notice of it hurting. I started putting the mystery quilt together last week and realized I got the 4 patch turned wrong but with 4 in each if the 6 blocks I thought I could get away with leaving it that way. Well I also found that my focus blocks, having cut them with a different brand ruler, were 1/4 inch too large and and my fudging wasn't working too well so it is now my disaster quilt which I will eventually take apart and do right. Maybe I'll practice FMQing today. I'm quilting from the back following the design on the backing. Have a good day, all!

GGal ... I guess a fly on the wall would be more hopeful than getting "into" MiraB's muddled brain! I keep imagining ... imagine if we all were to get together IRL, and all the productivity (and talking!) that would come from that!

JeanieG ... you too can have one of those mirrors. Mine are two from the $ $tore. Look in the school supplies for locker mirrors. Mine were edged with plastic with a magnet on the back. I duct taped them together, so they can open around at whatever angle I want to get the # reflections needed as a preview. I keep it in my truck, just in case a OBW screams at me when in an LQS ... though I can see it moving to the sewing room when I get going at the Spikes. So glad the work will soon be done ... party time!

YES Ladies, it WILL happen. I will be doing the Spikes!

GGal ... Last year's Fr♥sty has become Patient Frosty ... he's on my front door, patiently modelling fabrics for his siblings. It's getting narrowed down ... I think! Yes, Thanksgiving is next weekend, with Monday as a Stat holiday here. "Adopted" family GTG will be Saturday night and I have my onions bought for the traditional Creamed Onions that the family devours at these gatherings! I was honoured, when I was entrusted with the recipe a few years ago. Oh no, a disaster quilt ... I can't believe that! Look forward to seeing your backwards FMQing today!

Rainy, icky, miserable, drizzly day here today.
No doubt you know what that means? ... a quilty day!

Today's Food for Thought
"It's the possibility that keeps me going,
... not the guarantee."

I think I will dedicate this one to
GGal and her Disaster Quilt...
.... for some inspiration to step away from the pattern
and turn that ugly duckling into something beautiful!!

Or send it on to one of us! Sometimes it takes a fresh look to change it around; GG, you could post it here and we would all help out.

You must have a daily calendar, QuiltE, with all those 'quotes'. American Quilt Store of Denver, Co., always over used the word 'possibilities' before they closed their doors. Now Fons and Porter have started doing that.

I am a couple of hours away from the Missouri Star Quilt Co., so anyone coming as a guest here, we could visit there without using their B&B. And Fons and Porter at Winterset, Iowa, as well. Off to the quilt room to try, try again. After completing the five more pieces of SYE, there's the MB to complete for the month of October....;have a 'hate' relationship with those that have posted ahead in SYE...and in the wrong places...guess they failed kindergarten and how to read the rules. Life goes onward and upward. Interesting how they have done their SYEs.

Goodmorning Ladies

Yes! I will take pics of Pups! I knew dear QuiltE would be asking they are six weeks on Wednesday, I should have got around to it by now. HEY quess what? LOL poor DH he is such a silly thing.... our Cat that we were given last year... had kittens two days ago! it is 4miles to nearest neighbors house, and 1 1/2 miles to nearest dairy. Dh thought that being that far away was some kind of birth control! I guess I need to talk with him about "birds and bees"

Nina Sue! I LOVE your SYE... you seem to be getting along easier than me! Simply Amazing!!!

Mirabelle I LOVE your new quilts! it is always FUN to SEE what you come up with next isnt it interesting that some children just never grow up? and even as adults think "I see it therefore I can have" mentality??? hmmmm you are just to darn sweet! just say NO

Im off and away again today... sigh! talk soon. BYE

DDamsel ... and I suppose too that your DH thought that said cat was a HE? Yeaaaaaaaaaa for kitties! Keep them away from Sugar and the kids. Yessss puppppppy pics please! LOTS of them! BTW ... how's your FWS finish coming? And where are you off and away to, again today??

QNSue ... no, not a daily calendar ... though I do get a couple of daily emails that include quotes. Sometimes they are oh so good. Others, well, why bother sending them? I've always been a quote junky, so I tend to see them most anywhere!

Hang in there QNS - you will get them done. I have not started #4 yet, think I'll go have a look at my fabric and start picking out which ones I want to use.

Still having hot winds here for the 3rd day. It is suppose to stop today, and possibility of rain coming down from the North on Wednesday and Thursday. Amazing how the weather can change so quickly. It was 91* here yesterday!
