Latest on Bram: they still don't know for sure what the problem is. He will be in hospital for at least another week. He's losing weight again While he's there they will try to get him off of all meds, that's good! Today he was not happy, didn't smile or talk, puked a lot.

Thanks Bev. When you talk to 4 different people you hear 4 different explanations. To me it doesn't sound like learned behavior either. One of the nurses said, because of his lung problems when his belly is full it presses against his lungs and that's why he's throwing up so much. Doesn't sound like that's the problem because when he got a lot less food (after he was used to getting much more) he did throw up a lot too. The pediatrician said he wants something in his mouth and this could be his way of doing that. Well, he's got nothing in his mouth after puking and he doesn't look happy either. Conclusion: still unknown why he does puke a lot. And I mean a lot! He was crying this afternoon because he was hungry, got his bottle and 10 minutes later we could mop it all off the floor. And he went to sleep with an empty stumach.

Great quilts, mirabelle.

Anael,

Has anyone mentioned acid reflux in regards to Bram? The reason I ask is my little grandson had it when he was born and he barfed all the time. He had a lot of nasal congestion, too and as soon as the pediatrician saw him, he put him on meds for the acid reflux and he stopped barfing and the congestion went away. The pediatrician told my son and DIL that 30 % of babies are born with acid reflux and it often goes undiagnosed.

Thanks Janie, yes and he's on meds for acid reflux since last week. It should take about a week before they work and there seems to be no effect yet. So maybe we have to wait a few more days?

Hi All ... reporting here from the sick bay!
Yesterday I went off on a little FART (6 LQS ... furthest about 2 hrs away). Main reason was to spend a GC that Frosty had won at one of the Fairs. Did that ... and then some! All was good while away. Then not long after I got home I got cold .... then started shivering ... then sick. And again and again ....... anyway last night was not a good night and this morning I was totally out of it. Haven't accomplished much today ... no more sickness, just the other problem!! And to think I had planned to sew my little heart out all day ... there just wasn;t the interest or energy to do so. HOping for a better night's sleep.

Sorry I won;t chat long ... just wanted to let everyone know I was alive (I think?)

Anael ... {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for you and Bram. Good LUck tomorrow ... I'll be thinking about you til you are back in touch. Here's hoping all is straight forward and you are back home in no time with that stone crushed and gone!

GGal ... Some {{{{HUGS}}}} for you too ... I would be devastated, so I can totally understand your upset.

Enjoyed the sweet eye candy ... It helped give me a "fix" that I couldn't get IRL today!
Thanks Ladies!

Hi Carriem
This is a really easy crazy pattern, my girlfriend and I devised it together about 8 years ago, I still have our hand written notes. Basically you stack your fat quarters and following a cutting guide, cut them all, then you shuffle them in a particular order then you follow a piecing guide to sew then back together. I decided to add the black for a bit of zing. If you don't add the black you can get these block done and dusted in a day.. I did make these in a day but it slowed me down adding the black.

Went to patchwork today, didn't take my machine and instead tried to sort through our scrap bins. About 18 months ago I cut and pieced and cut and pieced a lot, I mean a disgusting amount of blocks to be made into quilts. These were handed out to everyone to put together and quilt. I wrote the patterns and piecing guides to go with them, even adding the binding and backing fabric, so essentially they received a parcel with everything needed. So imagine my surprise when I found 5 of these tops pieced or half pieced and then stuffed into the bottom of the scraps bins. So I handed them out AGAIN and asked that they be returned by the end of the month. We shall wait and see.

I have calmed down (a little), sorry to vent.

Anael I am hoping that they can find a diagnosis quickly and then rectify the problem and Bram can be home where he belongs, hugs to my friend, take care.

QuiltE I hope you are feeling better soon, sending good vibes your way.

I have just finished putting the borders on these two quilt tops, don't know if I will get them quilted on the weekend, I just might work on my own "stuff". I plan on binding them both in black and yellow, will cut 20 inch strip lengths of each and sew them together. I only have a little yellow left so want to use it up.
