Mirabelle, you will be missed... guess you will show how productive you are without a computer when you get it up and running again!

Without everyone's help, I would not tackle the SYE, it isn't in my 'comfort zone' thing. I want to 'finish' one section at a time, when I guess I am 'suppose' to do all the ones, then the twos, and on to the threes all around the six sections?

JanRN, I hope you can get the Sweet sixteen up and running smooth this week. When work gets in the way of what you want to do, its time to figure out how to make it work without work in the way.

Janie, I envy your abilities to hand sew; there are days when my hands will not pick up a needle or thread from the table...or can see to thread the machine. Hopefully sight will improve after the surgery; at least I will not see twin cars coming on toward me or twin buzzards flying in the sky when there is really only one there.

At least, my knee is not swollen last few days even though I have done a lot of things. Stumbling around in the dark, listening to dh berate the stupid guineas who will not go into their A frame until they are ready. New kittens are coming to me now, and wanting TLC. Another week and I will introduce them to the outside. Little black one still is afraid of everything and does not trust anyone except me in small doses....very independent, but loves the TLC.

BIL helped dh dig the sweet potatoes yesterday and found a good yield in the tires, very large and nice bunch. Everyone have a nice Sunday. Honchey, I am looking forward to getting the pattern of the table runner. Thank you.

QNS, Sweet 16 is up and running!! I kept getting birds nests on the back; I had it threaded wrong. After re-threading, works fine. Now will it keep running????
I also do the SYE blocks one wedge at a time. I usually change my mind about color placement a few times so if I only make one wedge I can change it.

I had a busy day taday. DH & I went ta the old house & he fixed a couple o' sm things while I dug up a few o' my DGDad's Irises & brought 'em here. After I got home I figured out that there is a perfect place for a few o' my umbrella plants. I won't take 'em all, just git enough ta git 'em started. I'll go back in a couple o' days & git 'em. Then we came home & I watched my Texans loose another game. Sigh. I then went out & planted my Irises & my Day Lillys that I had in a pot. I also dug a yellow flower outta the yard & planted it in the flower bed. In the yard it's a weed in the flower bed it's a wild flower. I don't know if it's an annual or perennial. I hope it's a perennial.

Home from my retreat! I've taken a couple short snoozes this afternoon, but didn't want to take a long nap for fear I wouldn't sleep tonight. I had a great time...didn't get as much as I wanted to done, but did finish DS's quilt (picture coming soon), plus my Nov MB and started Jan MB...would have done Dec, but I mixed up which one was next. I am hoping to get the Jan MB done this week and the Dec MB done next week, then I will be all ready to mail during the right month since I won't be sewing for a couple months.

There were 11 Thursday night, 18 Friday and 16 Saturday. A few of the ladies that were scrapbooking are really thinking about bringing their machines and quilting at our March retreat. We talked about maybe doing a "jelly roll race quilt"...not so much as a race, but more as a class.

Lots going on here while I was away! Thinking of you all.

Must be a busy morning for all or one of resting after a big weekend.

Hope I can get to the quilting room again, but some housework is necessary to do. Bf called her dh hit a big deer, went into sheriff's office to report it, and the law was not there, but at a sales barn fire in Russell, Iowa. So he went by the Iowa State Experimental Farm in Lucas county with that story. A neighbor to the farm went looking for their missing bull and discovered a field of dead cattle...not words a farmer wants to hear. That story will break sometime in the next week.

Soooooooooooo excited for you JanRN ... pretty soon you and Sweetie will be making great things together. I'm sure it'll all come together fine now.

What a great time of being together with your friends, CarrieM. Look at all the influence you have been in switching them from scrapbooking to quilting! The Jelly Roll quilt will be a fun together project at the next retreat.

Fall work for many ... gardens take a lot of work to put them to sleep for the winter! I got some done a couple weeks ago, and of course, more still to do.

Have fun with your new kittens, QNSue! With just a short time to go til your surgery, please "behave" ... you do not want to get a cold between now and then or do anything to prevent it from happening.A beautiful fall day here .... and then rain to come in for the rest of the week, with the temperatures dropping and the S word being predicted. Apparently JanieW is sending it eastward!

QuiltE, I am avoiding crowds and trying to stay home. Yesterday I dropped off a card for a classmate Mother's 90th Birthday Party and delivered a big container of roses for her. Gosh, she can move faster than I can. Politely refused the cake and came back home. I am gaining too much weight, I think by just smelling sweets...dh can eat them, but I cannot without gaining another 5 pounds. I quit drinking Cherry Coke and it has not made a difference at all.

Two more wedges before I can post the October SYE Diamonds all around. Guess it is just me, thinking this is taking forever and a day. It will get done. I just cannot say, 'When'.
