I've been busy taday tryin' ta git ahead o' my laundry. I thought I was gonna take my friend ta go & git her DD (my apprentice) from Austin on Wed, but the girl called & said that she wants us ta git her when her live in isn't home. He doesn't have a job, won't go, & look for one then told her ta git one. They live w/his Dad. They have a baby. This just breaks my heart. My Friend usually has Thurs & Fri off. She is gonna try ta git another couple o' days off ta git this accomplished.

When we go & git her she will be movin' back home w/her DM. She wants us ta wait a bit. She doesn't want him ta be home when we go & git her. She thinks he will try ta stop her & might not let her git all o' her stuff. My DFriend wants ta git her schedule all set up first. There was a time when this girl was at my house 3 - 4 days a week. I think at that time I saw her more than her DM did. (Her DM was workin' a lot back then.) Thats why I call her my apprentice. We did a lotta sewin'!

Duh, dublb - I know what DD is, but was trying to make it out as some sort of Degree, or job? Don't know why!

I'm baaccckkkk computer is all fixed and running super fast, I might not be able to keep up

We had better crank up the chat to reach 7000, who will make it

QuiltE I made the muffins on Saturday and took them to DD's on Sunday when I visited, they didn't last long. They are the best tasting banana muffins I have ever made: thumbup:. I got 18 out of the recipe so I didn't have to make two batches.

This is what I got up to with no computer in the house, both patterns are from Missouri Star Quilt Company and I had scribbled down the instructions some time ago. The first one is called Coins with Pizzazz, made from 1 1/2 by 5 inch rectangles. I had a tray of 2 1/2 by 6 1/2 rectangles so just cut them down, had to cut 8 extra to make up the bed runner. That's another pile of scraps finished.

The second one is called Double Slice Layer Cake and while searching for the border fabric for the Coins I found a layer cake, just have to piece the blocks together, the pile on the ironing board will be the bed runner.

I was given a gift on Sunday, so now I have a smurfette on my sewing machine to keep me company

Now I am off to cook dinner, tomorrow DS and I are going out to lunch and then DH will be home for dinner.

Dubib...so sorry to hear about your apprentice. How is your sewing room coming along?
Carrie....welcome back. Sounds like you're spreading the addiction. Quilts have a charm all of their own.
Mirabelle...love your two quilts. The first looks like you did the sashing the same way I did my last scrappy quilt. I still have some of those odd 1 3/4 inch strips left. I think I'll use them like you did. I think I can figure out why you still had that layer cake....those colors are too bright for you! They are making up very nice though. That little smurffette will get dizzy watching all of the fabric go by. Be careful she doesn't get caught in a seam!
Jan...did the S16 remember all that you taught it?
i got block 5 of SYE done yesterday and just need to see a couple more slices of fabric on one slice and all the wedges for block 6 are ready to sew together today. They take a lot of time. Today I shop and run errands in the morning. We had our first hard frost last night so the garden needs a final clean up if it doesn't rain. Have a good one all.
