*blush*
Thanks Everyone ..
. I just kind of went at it, not knowing what I was doing. Had the idea but wasn't really sure if it would work or not. Didn't really have much of a plan at all!

Awww but gee ... you all know I like my green! You may remember the butterflies in two other quilts I did. After I had it put together I found another small piece of the butterflies. Wish I had found it sooner, as I would have made the runner longer. Oh well ... just might make something with the little bit too!

Anael ... I'm sure it's frustrating for you to know that in getting better, then you have to start all over again. Just keep reminding yourself, that it's all for the good. And once the surgery is over, then you can really get serious at getting better! Poor Little Bram ... he's a real trooper!

Honchey ... There is good news in no internet ... you will have more time to sew! Maybe time to get your own connection?

Honchey, maybe its time to get a computer notebook to carry with you between NJ and NC. ... they are down in price with some at $235.00 on sale.

Used a cheap pair of reading glasses tonight and read a book! and it felt wonderful. Wonderful bread dish over in SYE discussion and this one here is healthy:

Level:
Easy

Serves:
6 servings

Ingredients
For the filling:

Cooking spray
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
4 teaspoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 medium carrots, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1/2 pound green beans, trimmed and chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups lowfat milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup peas, thawed if frozen
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves

For the biscuit crust:

1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons canola oil
1/2 cup low fat buttermilk

Directions

To make the filling: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a large shallow casserole dish, or 6 individual casserole dishes with cooking spray.

Season the chicken with 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper. In a large nonstick skillet, heat 2 teaspoons of the oil over a medium-high heat. Add the chicken to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer the chicken with its juices to a bowl. .

Add 2 more teaspoons of oil to the same pan and heat it over a medium-high heat. Add the onions, carrots and celery and cook until the vegetables begin to soften, about 3 minutes. Add the green beans, garlic and remaining salt and pepper and cook for 2 minute more. Add the milk. Stir the flour into the broth until it is completely dissolved and add to the pan. Cook, stirring, until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 2 minutes more. Return the chicken with its juices back to the pan. Add the peas and thyme and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Spoon the mixture into the baking dish or individual dishes.

To make the crust: Put the whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a food processor and pulse a few times to combine. Add the butter and pulse about 12 times, or until pebble sized pieces are formed.

Add the buttermilk then oil to the food processor and pulse until just moistened. Do not over mix. Drop the batter in 6 mounds on top of the chicken mixture (1 mound on each individual dish, if using) spreading the batter out slightly. Bake until filling is bubbling and the biscuit topping is golden brown, about 20 minutes.

I went ta my DSis's house taday. I'm glad that she & I are gittin' along right now. (Part o' me is afraid o' when she's gonna blow up at me again.) She rents her 2 bedrooms out. Both o' the rooms that are ta let have north facin' windows & she wanted me ta help her put the shrink plastic on 'em. She bought some used bedroom furniture that she has been paintin' black. I asked her what kind o' paint she bought 'cause I want ta paint the short yellow bookcase black. Well she has half o' her quart left. I took my bookcase over there & got it sanded & used some woodputty ta fill in the splits & gouges. While the wood putty was dryin' we worked on fixin' the plastic onta one o' her windows. Your supposed ta use a blow dryer ta git the plastic ta shrink up, but the window itself was too cold & the plastic wouldn't stick ta it. We never even got ta the other window & my woodputty wasn't dry by the time I needed ta head home. So I guess I'm headed back over there again tamarrow afternoon.

I've been lurking again this week. It's so nice to hear of QNS's successful surgery and Anael is making some progress, Bram is gaining weight, Honchey is "tripping" again but not falling down, OK is back in home base to keep the farm running, DD is getting ready for winter, Carrie needs some sunshine and hugs, Jan will have to wash a uniform in the middle of the week to keep up with her new schedule, Janie has a bunch if "sandwiching" to do/done, GrannyQ is starting her therapy and is worried about DH, Mirabelle is the energizer bunny that just keeps going and going and going and creating so much beauty in her path, QuiltE is hitting her stride with FMQ, Dubib is still settling in and waiting for a good buyer on the old house, and Jeanie has her plate full with family and camping. What a busy group!
i did get my FWS flimsy done last Friday, no pictures yet and will get the final borders on the Mirabelle quilt this week. It has been a trial to get the right color sashing and borders for this one. The Fabric is beautiful but the fabric from the same line that I had planned to use just didn't work. So much for planning the entire quilt from the beginning like my QB friend does. We were at a customer appreciation day at the LQS yesterday and looking at fabric for next years BOM and her first question was, what would you use for sashing! I told her that my quilts are organic....they just grow, some with more success than others. She also knows before she starts exactly who she is making the quilt for or where it will go in her house. How do you all start/plan your quilts?

GG, that is a good summary of the site. I plan for the person usually...unless its a mystery quilt or a pattern that catches my eye or a project like 50 stars pp or Dear Jane, FWSQ and PC. Under Construction for DGS.

I have discovered a cheap pair of reading glasses work very well in reading newspapers, books and magazines. I may try to sew with them...later. Reminded Ok to post her MB, and hope she does soon. I am on the road again today doing errands with DH, so will check in later in the day. Everyone have a good day, celebrate the day and count your blessings.

QuiltE.....what is the Royal???? I don't remember you mentioning it before......If I could get internet here by itself I would get it...It's not available that way here in NC...It has to be packaged with phone service and that is too $$$$ for the time we are here...I will just go to the Clubhouse....Oh...and..your Butterflies are beautiful!!!

QNS, I have laptops so carrying them is not a problem..I thinl I'll be browsing quiltercache for blocks today...I can wait on the coupons for printing... I help several families with basic foods & coupons help tremendously so I do alot of printing when the coupons become available...www.wwpbelieve.org is a new one with great coupons...I've been doing this for over 25 yrs...makes me feel good!
GGal, I see a pattern I like then go for it...I have lots of fabric in my stash and will make sure I have enough for everything except the background & backing...I do love scraps & buy them often...I will see a scrap that will go with one of the many I have started and will put that in the baggie...I do have an abundance of civil war repo scraps ....
haven't done anything with them... Lots of batiks too...
Dublb, I remember when I was much younger taking on the task of refinishing furniture...as a matter of fact, I have a waist high chest that has cedar lined drawers that is blonde in color and I'm going to paint it after a light sanding...Picked it up at the thrift store for $30....it's going to be white with 30"s/40's green accents...remember the handles on the kitchen utensils from that era???that's the color....it will be going in the guest bedroom...I tried to find a wicker chest but they are too much $$$$ so a painted chest has to do...I have a wicker night table & a wicker console that has a small tv on it...
I'll be checking in tomorrow..tonite is a Bingo at the VFW...there's nothing on tv that I like so maybe I'll do some sewing..I would like to get ahead on my MB's
Have a good day everyone.....

Looks like a good recipe, QNS. I will try it. Wonderful that you are reading and seeing things more clearly.

Honchey i think QuiltE is referring to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair that is on right now in Toronto. I think.

GGal, yes I got tons of sandwiching done. I have to move all my stuff out of the sewing room so that I have the floor to make the sandwiches so when I do it, I usually make it worth my while. I have to do the pinning method as I can 't tolerate the basting spray, so I get quite the work out when I go on a sandwich binge.

These next few days I am going to FMQ and bind several preemie quilts so I will have my hand sewing for when I go help out end of Nov at son's and DIL. Our weather still is awful, roads still icy so I am happy to stay home and sew and cook and read.

Have ya'll heard the country song about not bein' as good as I once was but bein' as good once as I ever was? Well My DSis & I used ta do alotta projects & they usually lasted for days on end. Well Yesterday I was good but taday I feel like I'm dyin'! I gotta go back tamarrow. We got more a few more windows ta git done & we ran outta sand paper so we had ta work on the windows LOL. Actually we did git the one window covered in the plastic though it didn't shrink up tight just taut again. At least the cold wind won't go through the edges. We'll be workin' hard on my bookcase again tamarrow.

Good morning, ladies. Just catching up on all the chatter before I leave for work. Brr--it's cold here with a heavy frost on everything. Most of the leaves are down. I'm guessing winter is on its way! Do something you love and enjoy today.
