Honchey ... let's just hope none of those little critters moved into your house with the tree! YIKES!!!!! The nice thing about JeanieG's recipe is that you can get them cooking and forget them, instead of having to watch that the pot does not boil dry ... or have it spitting and spilling on the stove top.

I "confess" .... I still peeled the potatoes!
.... the skins were starting to get a little thick, so I thought they might make it all a little chunky and yucky looking!! Otherwise I stuck to the recipe ... well, confession #2, didn't add the cream cheese and milk, but will do so for Christmas! My main reason for trying it was to see how quickly they cooked and how much they stuck to the crock.

JeanieG ... when you do them, how small do you chunk up the potatoes (1/2 and 1/4 is variable to the size of the potato!) I went pretty small (close to diced) and wondered if that was all that necessary. I will probably double the recipe when I make them on Wednesday.

The red potatoes that I used for Thanksgiving were pretty large, so I cut them into about 1 1/2" to 2" chunks. If they are little I think you just need to cut them in half, then in half again.

Thanks JeanieG ... I'm just nervous on it being cooked on time. I'll cook them here and have them ready to eat before I leave. They can stay warm in the crock as a drive to Christmas and then plug it back in. Have you been able to keep them warm for extended times without getting too burned/stuck to the crock?

Sounds like a package of the little 'goldies' would work well with this recipe. May have to try it Christmas. On foodnetwork.tv they boil the small potatoes til almost done, then squash each of them and fry them in garlic and oil. They clean bussels sprouts and cut them in half, and fry in olive oil, salt and pepper until tender. Dh loves them, so does bf, that I introduced the recipe to her. Easy and quick.

But without any teeth, Dh mainly likes 'soft' food. He is not starving yet.

Happy belated Birthday, Ansel. Hope you had a great day. Have a good one, everyone.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes #2 son and his girlfriend were here yesterday, next week I will celebrate again at #1 DS, DDIL, Mick and the twins

QuiltE, you're right, too many stitches. I did start ripping because of the fabric I used so I thought to give it a try. I ripped all afternoon, stabbed myself lots of times, no blood on the fabric, only on the batting But now I do have two separate pieces again ! ! ! I'm very happy and have learned my lesson

I love it JanRN. Love the colors and the different blocks, your corner stones and the border. Wonderful job. Wish I was as productive...trying to catch up a bit.

I couldn't get home from the post office fast enough, today ... to see what was in a special package that was awaiting me.

Thank you SO much GGal ... You went overboard by favouring me with the two blocks!! I really like them both and they coordinate so nicely with the rest of their buddies. Some of you might recognize the first as the centre of the first Spike block. I can see the Spike hexie appliqued to a pastel background and will wait til I have all the blocks together, to decide what colour will best suit. The other one is called Double Star from Quiltmaker 100 Blocks Volume 1. Magnificent!!! I really do appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Anael ... talk about patience! Now to start again.

JanRN ... oh look at your Rosie! ... spectacular! It looks so rich with all the jewel toned batiks. Did you use the border fabric as your backing as well? Would you post Christmas Rosie for me to see again, please?
