Sew Grands twins and Mick are sure growing! Nice to see a picture of them this morning...I think the Christmas joys are always echoed in the eyes of a child more than adults. This is season is theirs, happy and joyful. May every child find the joy and have a full tummy and shelter from the cold.

We visited DD and family with Skye yesterday, it was amazing how much DGS had grown and his Christmas gifts.

Hope everyone had a wonder day yesterday and it continues on into the New Year.

Anael, beautiful pics of the Sewgrands. QNS is right--you can see Christmas in their eyes.

"Thee packages" have arrived in the Netherlands and Fairfield, Iowa. ... so they are coming around the mountain of mail this time of year! Just be patient!

Patience apparently was not the strong point of Mothers in Wal Mart this afternoon; I got so upset at them, I grabbed what I needed and made a quick exit. Not one I heard sounded like love...long break from school was not being enjoyed by those Mothers! Grumpy, Cranky, Cross, Winny....Grrr. Those young adorable Miracles of Life needed a good hug instead of the cross words. 700-thread count sheet sets were on sale for $25.00...I grabbed two more today. Nice to give guest the chance to enjoy that satin feeling...of combed cotton.

I have my new glasses and feeling like tackling the quilt room now...

Oh my so much goings and comings while I've been off QB. Sympathize with QE as lights went out this afternoon and oh no cows to be milked chores to be done etc. Thankfully only off an hour. Yesterday had ham--seems to be a common theme here!--potatoes, carrots, cranberry sauce, warm brownies with ice cream and plates full of homemade goodies. Followed up today with potato soup for the group. Tomorrow the rest of the crew comes for the weekend. I have lots of bookwork to get back at so here for just a minute.
Merry Christmas--belated and Happy New Year to you all.

Well I was sick all Christmas. I do feel a bit better taday. My cough isn't as often as before & not as intense. My throat isn't as dry anymore either. I had ta cancel my plans ta have everybody here but my #2DSis stepped up & had it at her house. When my DM asked my DH if he would still fix the turkey he responded by askin' "What else would I do w/an 18lb turkey?" We sent it w/#2DS but DH stayed here w/me. He made a quick run ta the store & picked up a tiny turkey & fixed it just for me.

Oh dublb - what a wonderful thing for you hubby to do! He is surely a keeper! So glad you are feeling better, it is no fun to be sick on Christmas and miss all the rest of the family.

We went to my sister's house tonight, for a gift exchange with my siblings (1 sister and 2 brothers) families. There were two nieces, and one nephew with their children, and our son and his family came over too. Such fun to see these nieces and nephew's families. Don't get to see them very often. One of my three grandsons was playing on the patio with some of the other cousins - spinning around and fell, hitting his face on a brick planter. Of course he needed three stitches and has a slight concussion. My hubby drove our son, DDIL and grandson to the hospital. Always something at a family gathering it seems!!!

Dublb, nice that your DH came through for you and that you are feeling better. Do take care and do not overdo until completely over all the 'bad' stuff in thee body. Rest is the may key, and drink plenty of liquids.

JenaieG, kids will be kids, no matter how much parents and adults try their best to keep them safe. Good news is that he will live to tell about it. Good news that your dh stepped up to help out. His is a keeper for sure.

The K.LQS is having a 40 off all her 44/45 inch fabric this week only....grrr. Love the price, but talking to self, you don't need it, you have enough fabric...and repeating that. Will see, its very tempting. Very tempting.

Everyone catch your breath, and rest up for the New Year...just five days in the 2013 year.

Bev, I'm glad you're feeling better!

Jeanie, what did your siblings say about your gorgeous wallhangings? You didn't mention that but we want to know Glad your DGS wasn't hurt very badly.

Alas!! here I am!!!

What a week ... power off, then back on, then off, and has stayed on since Monday. Then I really had to get the pedal to the metal to get my exchange gift finished and the rest of Christmas "readying" completed. By yesterday I was ready for a day off, and pretty much did that!

There's been more snow every day/night and that has continued to cause more outages, as the weight of the ice then the snow was too much. Now they are fearing for tonight, as the expect high winds.

I am thankful for the short time that mine was out (almost 24 hrs, then another 6), in comparison to those who six days later have not been reconnected. Have often thought, thank goodness I was still not on the farm with cows to be milked, chores to be done (like OKSGlad)... though there, we had a generator, so virtually never were without power! There are still many in my area without hydro. It has been noted in the media as one of the trouble areas of rural Ontario that are just not getting back to normal.

So with patience, we can endure all things .......... though I am hoping to not have to endure another round tonight! There is no sign of a meltdown anytime soon ... so patience, my dears, if I disappear again!

JeanieG ... your potatoes were a hit! Peeled and chopped them on Tuesday. (Yes I know the recipe says unpeeled, but skins were just too tough to leave on.) Then started the crock at 6am to have ready for me to leave for the noon meal. Travelled well ... and yes, they will be a regular in my kitchen repertoire now! Hope your Grand is doing OK after his tumble. How did the siblings like their tree quilts? Did you get a photo of your completions?

JanRN ... both Rosies are fantastic!!! And here you are talking about longer days, warm weather ..... and spring!!

MiraB .... oooooooooooh for your Bargello Beauty! So, did you get your batteries for Christmas? I feel for you without the internet, having just gone thru that. I'm sure you can relate with how many times I went to the computer and then say, duhhhhhhhhh!! Eventually, I got away from that!

MiraBsDD ... maybe time to get your Mom "into" an iPhone, so she does not get withdrawal? So good that you are there to help with her smoke signals! Have been wondering how much sewing you two did during your Christmas visit? Did you get your DBro sewing with the two of you, after MrMiraB flew off?

QNSue ... How nice to see your treadle. Love the contrast with your modern machine behind it! I'll be watching to see what the huskies deliver to me!

DublB ... hopefully you are feeling better! Unlike the others, I will not suggest that your DS quit smoking ... you can't change her. Though it might be time for you to just say, I cannot visit you!!

Anael ... glad to see Isa is a fashionista with her "bling" sweater! Sweet pics of all three. So how is your Rosie doing?

Ladies .... a Late Merry Christmas to each of YOU from me ........ enjoy this holiday season, whether at home or on the roam. I always try to just do what I want to do for the week ... and not get into any "work" projects, whether the paying type or work around my home (other than the necessities). Of course, you can pretty much guess what that might be for me!

My brothers and sister's families just loved their wall hanging. We had a dessert night last night to exchange gifts and visit. Here is a photo of the wall hanging. It does not hang perfectly flat because of the light wiring in the back, but I am pleased with how they turned out. I may have to see if I can find another kit and make one for myself! The second photo shows my attempt at quilting all the details. I tried to follow the different stars and snowflakes.
