Hi all you cowpokes or should I say ponypokes ???? 56 & 37 = number of pieces...in that order for the blocks this week....too much for my brain to contemplate right now...although I have been glancing at the scrap pile for color combinations...This week all I have to offer is the....

Letter of the Week #11--Dorothy F. Biebighauser

Dorothy F. Biebighauser was born on September 26, 1901, in Washington County,
Minnesota. Her parents were named George (b. 1874) and Adaline (b. 1875.) Some
of the family's census records were poorly written. Her sibling, two years
younger, was named Corrine (a girl) in the 1910 census, or Corwin (a boy) in the
1920 census. Her letter and photograph on page 27 clears up the mystery. Her
sibling was a boy, most likely named Corwin. Dorothy also had a baby sister,
Florence, (not pictured)who was one year old when "Freckles" the pony joined the
family. Dorothy died on December 6, 1987, just a few miles from where she was
born. Her last name did not change, so it is quite likely that she ever married.

The turkeys and ducks are growing: and the new "chicks" are here:But I still have a little quilting time in the sewing room. Finished this week's blocks and next week's blocks as well. And sewed an another row on my FWQ...so three rows left to sew. QuiltE, your packet left left today, so watch for it.

Honchey ... sending some more {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you. Glad to see that your scrap pile is calling you ... that's a good sign!

QNSue ... Are you a Proud Mama? or what? awwwwwww they're so cute! Really like that black one with the white tuxedo shirt!! Are the chicks for meat? or will they be layers? Will keep an eye open for the snails to arrive ... or perhaps I should say the Pony Express? You're coming closer to the finish!! Keep at it ..... in your not-so-spare time!

Now for the announcement ........................ My FWS is done!!!!!! I was on a conference call today, which was mostly listening, so I brought my quilt, thread, etc into the office and got to work while I "worked"!!! So that got me in the mood, and I just kept at it tonight and a few minutes ago, the last stitch was sewn. Will do a good pick and clean session now ... removing loose threads, etc.

So needless to say ... no PC blocks done ... and not sure i"ll get at them. The LQS UFO Challenge is coming near the end, so I want to get as many done as I can for that.

Wow the birds are growing fast. And yeah..................QE has it finished too. You and mirabelle made it!!! Can't wait to see.
Meanwhile, I got home and tons of stuff to do. DH doesn't do dishes--let alone during corn planting season. Got half the lawn mowed tonight, too. Tomorrow go pick up more seed corn and back to the garden. No blocks here either.

Night owl roses under our wisteria, and pink roses we have next to YY highway. Roses are next to the house also. Wanted Mirabelle to see what we look at everyday. Love roses, love her quilt blocks.

QNS. I think if I were ever to visit you that I would Never leave.....LOL! I love the look of your place with it's animals and flowers. What a lucky lady you are to have so much room and "country". I'm the city dweller (well, the burbs)and it's not great....the soil is so hard that it's hard to grow things and even if we put good soil around the plant, the hardpan below eventually gets it.....Oh well, at least we have our own place. I'm glad it's not an apartment. When I did live in one, I had pots and barrels all over the place.....I've got a few here......but it's not the country by any stretch of the imagination. Animals, I think not.....maybe a cat or dog, but my DH and I have reached the age that we won't have any more of those as our kids don't want them if something should happen to us......so believe me, I vicariously live through all your delightful comments and pictures.......I think you do treasure what you have.....

To all PC trail riders; the welcome mat is always out. And we do have a guest room that sleeps 3 and a travel trailer that never travels that will sleep another four (But you will have to help unload stuff stored in it). Free lodging for a week with meals included. Reasonably close to Thunderhead Lake (Mo) and Rathburn Lake in Iowa.

Anne, thanks again for keeping us on the trail and posting all the background info. Keep hanging around with us--looking at these beautiful blocks is a great way to help maintain sanity. I swear I'm spending too much time at the nursing home/rehab center with my mother. All these people talk about is pooping!!! I'm sorry but if that is ever the highlight of my life, please shoot me!!(Just kidding)
QNS, wow have your critters grown!! They look so soft and fluffy I want to pet them. And I'm so jealous of your flowers; I can't even grow a cactus in a pot without killing it!! Hmmm, guest room lodging--sounding good!
