*gasp*
*take my breath away*

and yes, I'm green with envy, that you ladies are so far along the trail!!

JanRN ... You want brutal honesty? See above!!!!! Your colours look well balanced and a nice mix of the brights with some duller colours. As already said, perhaps a little more yellow? ... I know, I know, you are not a yellow fan. See how the yellow you have used dances and shines? Just a wee bit more to enhance it a bit more. Did you decide on your sashing/cornerstones? The white batting looks grand, so what about white? and yellow cornerstones? or a light green? And oh how I like those pops of turquoise1!! Maybe even a lighter turquoise for the cornerstones?

GGal ... another beautiful grouping. I shrunk my display down to 22% so I could get a look at them all on the screen at the same time!! Again, a good mix of colours. I like the Civil War fabrics, or perhaps not, but the more muted tones that are in your mix. If anything, perhaps a little more white, as where you have used it, it seems to just add a little sparkle. I see this as being in reverse to Laurie's comments about it's good to have a muddy block every so often to give the eye a rest. Likewise in a more muted blend, I think the clean white (or other clear colours) adds and even brings out the muted colours.

Looks like there's going to be lots of
PC QAYG finishes ... and variations of how to do it. I haven't decided yet, but have bought enough backing that I can do it as QAYG if I feel competent enough!!

JanRN ... do come on over to the QAYG thread, and share of your experiences. I didn't quite understand how you did your QAYG process till just now! I finally do!! When you do your quilted blocks, do you use a fabric on the backside of the batting? or is it just your pieced block and batting, and no fabric?

PC Quilt Size? ... I keep reading how large it is? ITA when I see mine on my design wall. However, I think we are getting optical illusions, because the blocks are so big compared to our FWS. Keep in mind that we are making fewer blocks. Plus I believe the final dimensions for Laurie's PC is smaller than her completed FWS!

Thank you QE for the nice compliments. Yes, I know yellow (ugh!) but I did add it to some future blocks. My sashing is a dark navy blue with pale green swirls. I found some white fabric with very faint navy blobby things that I think I'm going to use as cornerstones. It reads mostly white.

As for my method of QAYG, I just made it up. I quilt my blocks with just the batting behind, no fabric. I like Warm & White batting--it's thin enough but holds its shape. It also doesn't get caught in the feed dogs (which I leave up). When I did FWS I made the quilt in 3 sections; then after I attached the backing I quilted the sashing and cornerstones then put the 3 sections together. I'm planning on doing this one (or 2 if I make 2 quilts out of the PC blocks) as one large backing section. I don't know. I'm intimidated by the size of this one.

You're welcome JanRN ... the navy and white with blobs will work perfectly! Truth be known, I am not a big yellow fan either. However, I think it's because of the "colour" of the yellows. I see some and can drool over it ... and then some just have a funny tinge/tone that has me right back saying I don't like it! Don't let the size intimidate you ... you've got enough experience from doing the other ones that you'll be ready for the next step. Of course, perhaps the next step will be LAQ on your friend's machine?

I am not a fan of yellow either! Because I am a "summer", I really look my best in pink, and blue tones. So I gravitate to colors that I personally know look good on me. Yellow I cannot wear at all!

Do your quilts wear yellow?

Way back when, I was told, no matter what season we were, every colour was in our palette. Just that it was a different shade/tone etc. for our season. So, which yellow for our summer ladies? I'm guessing a nice clear soft pastel sunshine yellow?

I'm an autumn ... so I suspect my "official" yellow probably has a brownish tinge? Like sunflowers? And oh yes, I remember, I was supposed to wear "mustard" to which I turned my nose up ......... I hate the food, mustard, and sorry, any connotations of it in clothing, just turns me off. Now call it a different colour ....... and maybe!!

I couldn't have said it better

I don't have any milestone to show, just my first finished PonyClub quilt. There are more to come!

I hope you all like what I did. I'm not sure it needs some more quilting. I only quilted the light blue blocks and did SID on all straight lines. And of course the white and blue border. So tell me what you think.

After seeing the pictures it looks a bit weird. There are 3 pics but it looks like there are only 2. The quilting in the blue block is not very clear, when you look at the picture with the whole quilt you can see the quilting better.

I like what you have done in making a very special quilt for a very special person...and will look forward to more similar to this one. It will be loved.

I am usually more of an orange person than yellow, but do use it once in a while for an accent like in the D9P blocks I am working on this week (well blocks are done and waiting to be quilted now)....

Anael--I don't think your quilt looks weird...you did a really nice job showcasing the PC blocks and pretty quilting on the solid blocks too.
