I think I am getting a routine established in sewing up the blocks. I do an outline block with the farmers wife sampler quilt disk in EQ7, then run a template patterns. I select the material, make the patterns from the templates and use a tube of school glue to glue them on to the outline block. If I like the block, I sew it together; if I don't like it, I try different material pieces in the block. Some I like so well, I make two or more of them in different colors. The queen size takes 111 blocks, the king takes 45 more, so if I make more of the ones I like, it may turn out to be a king sized quilt. Yes, I am still having fun...using pieces from my stash.

And learning from others on this board. Putting the blocks into a D ring notebook in protectors, just like they said on an earlier posting on site. Thanks a million for that help.

In the cold weather, my sewing time is devoted to hand quilting, so I was trying to finish through Block #76 before the cold got here; by April (& Block #s 77 & 78), it will be warm enough to go back to cutting & sewing. However, the cold weather has already arrived (brrrr!) and, unfortunately, I still have parts of 5 blocks I must put together. Most of the time, we heat our house with a wood burning stove and without the furnace on, some rooms are pretty cold: all the bedrooms and both my upstairs & downstairs sewing rooms, so my fingers are like little icicles.

thank you for posting your routine :D I was wondering how you all are getting these things put together so quickly. it takes me forever to do, since we moved I dont have a place to lay everything out, its all in bins. so I have to work quickly when it is out and do several at a time all in steps.
and I promised myself I wouldnt do anymore fabric selection until I get my hands on somemore fabric.
so... more waiting.
AND the focus seems to be broken on my camera.

Hi, we moved some "stuff" into the house in NC and it's so hard to figure out what to take and what to leave. We can't sell the house in Jersey right now 'cause the market is so bad so we'll have to wait awhile. Here's a photo of my sparsley furnished sewing room. I had to buy a 6 ft banquet table to set up two of my machines. I'm going back down in January to finish or at least get more "stuff" for the house. A nice swivel chair would be great. There are lots of thrift stores in NC and I'm checking them all out. I bought a few very nice pictures for the bathrooms and one for the kitchen/dining area. 5 for$6 total. I haven't been able to find any fabric or sewing notions yet. I didn't have any internet service while down there I had to find a wireless connection. Now I have Verizon wireless internet. It's cheaper than my home service and now I can take it with me anywhere. It's good to be back. talk to you later. Anne

I've been wondering if I should go back to Verizon. AT&T has been disabled by all the iphone users. It's a mess. Only problem is Verizon was a major pain back in the day. Customer service and billing nightmares. Also completely impossible to use downtown.

Love the table! I just got a cutting table so I can stop using my antique stove's flat top. I also got a sewing table fairly recently. Things are comfy here. Not that attractive though. Couldn't bring myself to spend thousands for better looking furniture. :0)

I finished 37 yesterday and it went together easily so drew up the next block to paper piece it, started it this morning and everything went wrong, I had angles going the wrong way, fabric in the wrong place. My brain just wasn't working. SO had lunch and decided to just piece it the normal way, well it is such a mess that I have now drawn up another block. Have paper pieced the first row and have decided to walk away before I mess it up again.

Hopefully my block will be finished tomorrow when DS goes to work and DH goes fishing and I can concentrate without interruptions :P (don't tell them I said that) he he he

I have a question, and though I won't be able to check back until really late tonight or in the morning I will check in.

On the block with the flower pot #37. Is everybody having set in seams? If so, one or two? My first 3" and 4" pp print out of this block does 2 and so I redid the grouping and got it down to 1. This is with using EQ5 and the companion cd. Normally the set in seams are not a problem for me (a challenge but not a major thing), but I am having a problem with the 2nd side of the flower lining up right on this one. I think for now I will try to do another and see if it was my stitching. But I also would really like to know if anybody has figured out how to do this one paperpieced and without set in seams and when having set in seams how many set in's- all are having.
