Love this, where do you get the block of the month from and the past ones, this looks like it could be fun.

I am hand sewing all of my blocks, BUT this one was a pain! it should not be assembled this way!
if you look closely at the photo in your book you will see that the block was not made to the pattern, it was assembled in four quarters.
the center diamond shape would have to be in four. thereby having need of eight smaller triangles instead of the four larger ones. in addition to the four squares.

does this make any sense?[/quote]

Hi, I have the PP patterns from the Yahoo site and the center square is divided into 4 quarters and each quarter is then added to it's own (color) corner section--so the four # 7 template pieces should become eight additional T # 13--instead of 20 pieces you should cut 28 of them.

Honchey, your block 44 is gorgeous! I think mine is one of those that will be re-done; it is so ugly. I've re-done a few, but may just wait until I see what does not "work" in the finished quilt before I re-make any more.

Anyway, for better or worse, here are my 43 & 44.

Oh, its time for the garden path and the gentleman's fancy...I had fun with this. My husband said he just got married, he did not die, therefore, he could still look... and window shop; I said he could not bring home any samples or sample anywhere else!!It was always a joke in my family; if Granddad failed to see it then Grandma would call his attention to a good looking woman...

Hi Weezie, There's nothing wrong with your blocks ! - a little pressing and trimming would really set them up just fine! Take the extra time to do this before the"photo shoot" and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I hope I don't sound critical -it's not what I intended. Anne

GrannyQ, Many times the PP patterns are assembled differently than how it's diagramed in the book--mostly for the better. It doesn't hurt to look at them before you start the block this way you can piece it the easiest way for yourself.

Thanks, all of you, for the compliments- my head just got bigger  , Anne
