I think you've done an excellent job for the first time doing them. I like that all your points are well placed and none of them are cut off. I do wonder if you have enough room between the points and the edge for a 1/4" seam. Leaving a bit more above the point when you cut the square out will help there. There are crossed lines at the top of the template when it is on point. It is where the 1/4" lines cross. I put that above the point when I place my template. Don't look at the bottom point LOL it isn't centered at all.

The other thing I like to suggest is to tack where your seams go. If you tack the edges together and you tack where the seams meet then everything will line up better. I sometimes get in a hurry and don't take time to tack and I always regret it.

Tacking

Oh Kassaundra..... you are a "bad" influence, but I am chuckling over your suggestions. Now....to find a friend to go shopping with.

Rhonda - many thanks for your suggestions. I took the center four blocks out and will re-do them. The other mistakes will stay but the center ones were just too obvious. I have the triangles all cut out and will work on this at the quilting retreat at the end of February. I'll post my results after then.

Mine is off the frame and ready to be bound. I've gotten behind in a few other things, but hope to get that done this weekend so it can be hung in the hallway for February (Valentines). I'm quite happy with the results, though it's far from perfect since it's the first quilt I did with my new longarm.

Here it is, not too bad for the first one using my new HQ. Sure is fun, but I've got to learn my technique all over again For the very first time in machine quilting - I got some perfect examples of eyelashing LOL!! Only right at the start and then I got my tension and movement both working better.

I sure do like the pattern. Now I'll be ready for next month!

Gorgeous!
This one definitely is on my "to do" list. Have a few others to finish before I can start on it though.
