Thanks Lara and DeeCee,

I never know whether I should show that link or not. I used to paint in oils, not very well, and now I dabble in watercolors. I guess I think like a painter when I am doing applique. Its a lot like a paint-by-number picture.

hugs, Jupiter

Obsessed, that star is gorgeous.

Got the book from the library, still looking through my stash. Looks hard. But easier than traditional piecing.

 WOW ! is right, Jacquie.... Its looking very exciting. I'm glad you are catching up. March 6th is our first "catch up" week, so that will give you some time to get current.

Keep up the good work (play?). This surely cannot be work! lol

hugs, Jupiter

Here's my Advanced Liberty Star. It took longer to complete, but was fun.

I'm glad you showed the link. I really enjoyed looking at your work!

DeeCee, I learned to paint as a child using oils and now I dabble in acrylics because the clean up is so much easier! ;) I've worked in most every medium growing up at art camps, art lessons, art classes in college etc. I haven't painted much recently though - as hard as it is to sew with three pre-schoolers running around, it's even harder to paint! Quilting is my creative outlet now.

Jacquie - that fabric is great  I am sure it won't take you too long to catch up.

Keely your star is beautiful. I love those fabrics.

Jupiter - I'm so pleased you chose to share this link. It is nice to have a peek at the work of others - especially such creative work.

Obsessed - I understand the choice of acrylics. I started painting when my kids were school age but I was working also so I needed to be able to have quick setup/cleanup to snatch a few minutes of painting whenever I could squeeze it in. Now I quilt more than I paint and spend too much time on the computer. If I could give up work I'd have enough time to do it all. :D

P.S. The last sentence was typed with longing and wishful thinking.
