Beautiful job! I vote for red cornerstones. Then red binding to tie it all together in the end.

A 2nd Jane? Well, I knew that there was no way that I could make 2 at once as I would never finish it that way. I have thought that maybe someday I would make another...something with a more refined layout...like Rachael's, Lesley's or even Klue's R/W/B design. I've just been making my blocks out of whatever I picked up that I like the look of at the time. And I love the look of those gorgeous batiks and Asians..so...maybe someday! My hat is off to all of you making 2 right now!

I don't know how they are doing it either Patti - one was enough for me. I was really surprised to see my posting of it pop up on 'recent topics' the other day. Someone must have been going back quite a few pages to find it.

Well, it certainly deserves to be viewed again Lesley...and again and again... :D

Lesley, your quilt is fantabulous and I canīt wait till you enter it into a show.

Patti, I agree with you I really do look up to anyone who can do two lots at the same time. No way Jose, as they say.

Just come back from my sewing day, not too many things this time to show you all. One piece in particular stood out from the rest and I will post later. Its a wall hanging with sashiko and beautiful flowers appliqued on it. Later my friends. I have been sitting with my friends by the beach having a chinese meal and it was very nice indeed. The wine flowed and of course we had a lovely freebie at the end of an Ameretto on Ice.

Did a few more DJ blocks, I mean got all the side sashings on for 3 rows and started quilting. However there was a lot going on today as its so near the time for our show so it was a lot of talking going on and not much work.

Definately the beige.
Very pretty Patti.

I like the beige too.

sandpat 09-28-2010 05:14 PM

Thanks...I've just about decided on the beige. Now..have to get busy on blocks so that I can get to the point of putting the "vanilla" corners on that baby!

Elle...you started quilting????? Geesh! Now you are gonna blow by me!

I have a question about the kites (yes...I printed them out to take a good look). The question is - are those buggers as hard as they look???? Yikes! And did those of you who have done one or more...did you just cut out a template to trim them??

Hi everyone, well I did just start quilting DJ at my Tuesday class. I donīt take my sewing machine anymore because the timing gets knocked out so I take something to hand sew, anyways its going in to get fixed) hence DJ has come in handy. Been adding my sashing (just pinned so far) and cutting the batting down so that its just all ready to go eventually. However not done anymore blocks yet so you are way ahead there Patti. So far Row A, B C and D have sashing on and a few quilted.
Our Clubīs show starts this Friday, so Thursday I am off with the bits I want in it. Unfortunately the one I wanted still hasnīt arrived.

No, Patti, I didn't think they were harder, just bigger, so took longer. I had started the quilting on the first one, but did a lot more than you can see here.

This one took the longest - seemed like hundreds of pieces

This one I did over papers, English style

Fiddly, but went together OK. I appliqued the stars

This one was the easiest for me, but I had to revise the no. of pieces cos I hadn't realised the scallops were all seperate
