I'm making mine like yours katybob - half done! I thought they touched in the picture, but they are on different background pieces, but after doing J-10 her way a shortcut it is :) once the quilting is on [and a few years have passed], even I won't notice the difference in mine. Dont think it changes the look - she may have done it because of short on big background pieces;)

Week 63!

These were all relatively simple. Relative to blocks like J-10 that is! I do recommend a little Elmer's to line up the seams in K-2.

This is a Judie Rothermel fabric - love it!! our LQS just got it in :) It's a stripe and I will be using it in I-8 as well.

Thanks katybob! :)
and boy are you ever right about J-4!!! thought I'd take a little break and make something EZ! wow I started it after eating a late lunch after my last post! - so although it isn't scheduled for a few weeks [April 21] here it is:

I cut a 4" square of background diagonally twice to make the triangles .... the reason for doing it this way is so that you have the diagonal of the triangle on the straight edge so that the square wont stretch, then cut two 1 - 15/16" x 3 1/4" pieces and 1 - 1 15/16" x 7 1/2" piece of my print:

ok.... gotta make those two triangles like katybob did for this week - and then onto something difficult again I guess... maybe some housework!

WOW.. I'm surprised.... both of the other blogs paper-pieced and have the diagonal cuts on the square's edge. If you do this, be sure to starch the heck out of it or at least dont mess with it before you have the sashing on

Here are my LS3 an LS5 for this week.... I got a little crazy with LS3 :( actually - I do like it but I need to concentrate more on cleaning my house and not being anal about redrawing these babies! I thought the lower part should be brought down the melon is closer to the bottom so the triangle it sits in is shorter, and the square above it is actually taller than the lowest triangle in that tri - so I adjusted it. I didn't PP - I just measured the pieces on my pattern and made it longer. My square finishes 1 1/4"... if you really really want to do it this way, I will give you measurements if you can't see from the pics - otherwise - follow thatquilt.com

One more for the day!! I just finished I-8 [week of Jan 20]. as I said above - I used the same fabric as TR-6 - a Judie Rothermel stripe with loads of possibilities!

Why is it that people paper piece when measurements are so very simple??? ok - I'm working on BR11 and it is so very simple! measurements are straight forward, so why put yourself in the position of having to tear off all that paper?

I say that but the tri was scheduled for Nov 11 [of last year:( ] so much for your fearless leader!! If you haven't done it yet - hold on for some pics later today perhaps. If you insist on PP - go to auntreen at http://auntreensquilts.blogspot.com/...gle-block.html
it is a little more straightforward :)
