We’re going to take a breather this month and work on a very simple star. You can find the pattern here:
http://www.quiltinaday.com/freepattern/ On the right side of the page about 2/3 of the way down you will find “Leah’s Star” and you can download the pdf file to your computer. The pattern makes an 8” star. But if you wish to make it a 12” star without having to add a border around it, you can do so by simply enlarging the blocks. Instead of following the cutting instructions on the pattern, cut the fabrics as follows: Background: (8) 3-1/2” squares (2 ) 4” Squares Star #1: (1) 4” Square (2) 3-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangles Star #2: (1) 4” Square (2) 3-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangles Square up the half-square triangle blocks to 3-1/2” (#4 under “Making the Triangle Pieced Squares”) and remember that wherever the written instructions call for something 2-1/2” your will be 3-1/2”. This is a very easy star to make and I hope you have fun. |
Nice! I for 1 could use an easy month.

Awesome block, didn't take long to make. I really appreciate you doing the math for us! It made it ten million times easier. I liked this pattern - came out one of the straightest points I've done yet. :)

Sounds great, can't wait to get started.
