WOW - your block is absolutely beautiful. I still have my first to make, but hope to get them both done this month!!!

Flapper 03-08-2011 05:42 AM

O.K. I'm lost! I have downloaded and completed 1st block - I can download and print the 2nd block, but I can't find tutorials or instructions, I'm not very "literate" on the computer and don't know my way around this board-- Where do you post your pictures and find the rest of the instructions? I really need to know what size block, since it is different from the 1st one. Help!!

Yes!! I found instructions at bottom of the page and while I was posting this, gal 288 posted the size. I really appreciate all the help you get on this board. Thanks!

Woo Hoo! I wondered if I could do the rouching and I think I can. I went to the instructions and took some practice fabric and here are the results. There are two sections to each photo. The top one is the pix from the tutorial and the green fabric one underneath is what I did this morning. This might work. After I get more done I will try and put it together for the actual flower.

Good job Bonnie - way to go

Great job Bonni, loop the thread over the top and under the bottom to get more ruffling.

looping thread, bring needle from behind the edge.

Is there a search tool for finding the different tutorials so one does not have to read thru all the pages? Thanks

Kathleen charnell 03-08-2011 07:55 AM

I have the center block as block 1, I didn't see any pattern for the corner rose block, can you direct me to the place to find it? Thanks.

Logan reminds me of my nephew Luke. They both have that ability to turn charm women of all ages. Thanks for the block and tell Logan, he picked a winner.

Since this pattern is the corner block in the quilt, are we to make four of this pattern??

simbasue22 03-09-2011 08:24 AM

I am confused....if the center block finishes at 17" ...and the corners finish at 12" , how do they fit together ??? 2x12" is 24" and that does not bring in the sashing strips ???

There are 4 blocks,, plus sashing across top & bottom, with 1 block on each side with sashing.

There is a photo of quilt with last months postingI will post anoother photo. When I get home

I couldn't download a patttern either, just the instructions. Thanks Peg, for reposting it!

gal288 03-09-2011 01:36 PM

I will fix the download later tonite,, don't know what happenned.

Micha 03-09-2011 03:07 PM

Has anyone tried Ricky Tims Stable Stuff Poly? I bought some but haven't tried it yet. It can be used inside of your applique pieces and then when it gets wet (washed) it becomes a stuffing. It can also be used in the printer. I think I want to try it for the stuffed roses.

jljack 03-09-2011 03:12 PM

So I have to do 4 of this???? Good thing I have a whole month!!! :-)

Sounds interesting, be sure to post when you try it so we can see the results. It might work with the stuffed rose nicely.

Yes, that's why I posted this block first. You have 11 more months to work on finishing all 4, some of the blocks that are coming in the future will not take a whole month to do, so you can keep the extra blocks from the corner to fill in.

Idle hands are not good!

gal288 03-09-2011 03:20 PM

Here is the block pattern download, don't know what happened to the original, seems to have not worked correctly.

Shouldn't the center block be equal in size to 2 of the border blocks? or at least smaller , since there is a sashing strip between them ?

yes, but because everyone has liked the ruched rose, I am adding another swag border around the center block, which has changed the calculations

you're very astute, picked up on the change, maybe next month you can be my proofreader?

updated photo with new swag ruched border.

CindyFaye 03-09-2011 06:25 PM

I love the second swag border around the center!!! Thanks for doing this! As soon as I figure out how to post a picture, I'll post my center block.

Cam Flower 03-09-2011 06:45 PM

Does the change in the center block change the size? I am getting just a little confussed. I made my center block the 17 1/2 " as directed so now what?

simbasue22 03-10-2011 03:30 AM

Sure, I'll be happy to proofread . I love this pattern, have the center done but hesitated to start the corners .I was afraid of not having enough background if I had to recut. Thanks

Keep going, center block did not change,, when I added the swag I changed the outer. Border which we did not do yet. I won' t changed anything you have completed.

You will have enough I changed the width of the outer border which will accommmodate the change in adding the swag.
