I read this topic on Friday and now I can't find it...doing 3 blocks/week with the book...have found the book and want to join???? anyone know where it went???

Look for any of the FWS items and you will find them. You might have to go back several pages to find all of them. They will be listed by week and block numbers.

Stalk Honchey's posts and you'll feel like you have found Pandora's Box!

There is a group who is coming to the end of a year-long quilt-along for the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt (author: Laurie Aaron Hird). There have been 3 threads per week pertaining to this group . . . a discussion thread, a rotary cutting directions thread, and a photo thread. The group went at a pace of 2 blocks per week.

There was interest brewing for a new quilt-along to begin, to include those who got far behind from last year's and for those who are starting the quilt from the beginning. During that discussion, someone didn't have all of the information and was making assumptions as to how the details of the new quilt-along would proceed. It appears that Admin has removed that entire thread which would be why you can't find it now.

I joined up last year but my FWSQ got put on the back burner due to other swaps and IRRs. I've completed 36 blocks. I was eager to join the new quilt-along, but was quite disheartened at the inference that some might take offense to another group beginning. I hope for the sake of those who are just beginning that a new quilt-along can happen. From what I've read, last year's group really enjoyed one another's support through the journey and it would be sad if newbies were discouraged from experiencing the same encouragement throughout their work on this quilt.

As for me, I'm going to keep plugging away at mine, quilt-along or not. If a new group doesn't begin and you just want a partner through the process, let me know. I'd be happy to work alongside you.

Thanks so much for the info, as I wanted to be part of the new group and wondered what happened. Hopefully, everyone can work it out and do another quilt-a-long. Guess it will give me more time to finish up some UFO's

Sew glad to see another group starting. I bought the book and would love to join the next group. And, like you said, we can all partner through the process if a new group doesn't begin.

I can't imagine that anyone in the "old" FW quilting group would have anything but best wishes for a "late-comers" group starting up.

I started with the original group, but have not finished. I'm about half way through. As I post my blocks into the existing group's posts, I receive nothing but encouragement and support.

The FWS posts from months ago are always showing up at the top of the "Block Heading" because there are so many of us still plodding along.

In order to avoid confusion, we have postponed any formal announcement of the next Farmer's Wife Quilt quilt-along.

The resources, discussion, photos, etc generated by the current group will always be available here for any member to use at any time.

the purpose of the quilt-along group is to provide a set of topics within which folks can share information and to show off their own progress. the leaders of the current group have given immensely of their time and talents and deserve many rounds of thunderous applause.

I agree with you,PatriceJ, one thousand per cent. It was a first time experience for me, working a group on the FWSQ...long and hard at times, but every rewarding with the leader, Anne, and with the group of wonderful ladies within the group.I learned so much working with them from start to finish...and the QB members who explained answers to quilt questions so very well.

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat with these wonderful ladies (and gents) on the QB.

Looking forward to it.
