Yes!! I can. Times past when I was young and in my prime, I had a riding mare...who walked across the strawberry bed on our first ride, so she was named "Strawberry", lovely sorrel colored mare. Thanks to the PC rider who sent this fabric to me.

Trail of the covered wagon trail, which stopped every night under the starlight, and the bright moon light showed the landscape in its moonlight glow.

Trail/Covered Wagon is done....mixed up one of the corners but didn't realize it until too late. I should have Sunshine finished by the end of the week.

Will catch up with everyone when I am home again

Anael 10-24-2012 06:43 AM

Thanks Mirabelle! Have fun quilting and sewing!

carriem 10-24-2012 06:57 AM

Mirabelle and Anael...both of your blocks are such soft colors...very pretty!

I have telephone done too if we need to post that this week. :)

QuiltE 10-24-2012 07:06 AM

**whistling a happy tune*

QNSue ... wonder whom that might have been? Great block with Strawberry's story. Thos wagon wheels really look like they are rolling along!

CarrieM ... oops! maybe the wheel fell off that covered wagon? Your fabric choices present such a tranquil feel.

MiraB ... More *sighs* ... are you as enraptured with these fabrics and how they go together as the rest of us have become? I'd say that's one elegant telephone.! Must be for the boudoir!!! :) Have a great quilty get-away!!

Anael ... Pretty-ness for sure! And would go with your Ode to Mom quilt. Good to "see" you here with us! Pleeeeeeeease, pretty pleeeeeeeeease with sugar on it .... would you join us for the Bonus Block Swap? You really should!!!! Pleeeeeeeeease? :D

All ... please help me lasso Anael back with us for the Swap!!

Anael 10-24-2012 08:27 AM

Oh dear, I don't know anything about a Bonus Block Swap. What did I miss? Tell me :D
I'm not busy, oh no, not at all ........

Yeeeeehaw!
The general gist ... you make a block for each of the people in the swap list. I think with you we're at 12? You can make all the same blocks for everyone or can make different ones and label whom each is for. Any block pattern, finished size the same as the PC blocks. Some are planning to include them as part of their PC quilt. Some on the backing. And some a different project. Due Date not until 2013. CarrieM is coordinating and can give you the fine details!! We will be mailing all to her and then she'll shuffle them around mail the mixed set back to us.

So we can count you in, right? :)

Others ... please add in what I have forgotten to tell Anael!
And twist her arm a bit too!!!! :D

QuiltingNinaSue 10-24-2012 09:11 AM

Yes, Anael, we decided to extend the PC Trail a bit more by making a special block for each person on the PC trail...eight and half inches unfinished...our personal choice of what block to make. Anne (honchey) did not want it to interfere with PC trail, so we are finishing it up in December, and then starting officially on the bonus block in January...do not know if we are going to do a show and tell or just ship the blocks to Carrie. She has all our addresses and info to ship the complete blocks on to each of us doing the bonus blocks....I think...you would be the 12th one to join, so that makes it an even dozen to make.

I plan on adding directly to the top of my quilt; I have asked, along with some others for no white in the block, just off white or cream color... And am brainstorming about the block itself with ties back to the state of Missouri...an embroidered block with the state outlined in red and a blue bird sitting in the center of the area...done on a cream colored background. No decision yet...we do have a pattern for a Maple leaf for OuiltE, and a frog pattern for Mirabelle, if you let Carrie know, she can forward the patterns to you.

I read in a different thread that your son & wife are having triplets??? Congrats. Wow!!.

gardnergal970 10-24-2012 09:20 AM

Anael...QuiltE has covered most of the bases. This came out of talking about substitute blocks and it grew into sharing something with everyone. We'll send Carrie our blocks as well as what postage will be for her to send blocks back to us so she won't bear that expense. We'll sign the blocks with our CB signature. I was going to put them on my PC quilt but am reconsidering. A wall hanging would be on display all the time and the quilt will not. I do hope that you can join us. You do such lovely work.

QuiltE 10-24-2012 10:04 AM

Good add ons of info QNSue and GGal
... also, there was a tulip block created for you, Anael!!

However, I don't believe we have to use any of those created blocks in the swap.
For sure, I'm going to make one of each of those blocks for my quilt.

I haven't been doing the PC lately ... haven't been near my machine since the first of August!
However, I have committed that absolutely I WILL have my swap blocks done on time!! :D

I I have decided on what block ... just haven't finalized what fabrics.

Anael 10-24-2012 11:32 AM

I didn't do any PC blocks lately and didn't plan on finishing all the blocks. But I will participate in the swap. Only problem is covering postage from the US to Europe. I will talk with Carrie about that. Signing the blocks means on the front? Or on the back?
Maybe we could start a new thread for the bonus blocks in Januari?

I think a new thread is what was planned!
The postage issue will have to be sorted out for MiraB and myself too.

Yeeeeehawwwwww!!!!!!!!

Anael 10-24-2012 12:31 PM

:D I'm glad you're happy :D :D

Anael 10-24-2012 12:33 PM

***blush***

I'll have to work on being quiet as a mouse!

Anael 10-24-2012 12:40 PM

Maybe I'm the one who is too quiet :p

carriem 10-24-2012 12:42 PM

Just got home from a nice lunch with a friend from church and then grocery shopping. I see most everything has been covered for Anael regarding the bonus blocks. Re: postage, Mirabelle mentioned just using Paypal and sending me the return postage that way...will that work for you both (QuiltE and Anael)?

Here is what I have typed up for details:

We are making 8" finished blocks…like the PC ones

Not sure yet how many...I will send a final count hopefully by mid-November as we are finishing up the regular PC blocks. We have 11 counting me...if Anael joins that will be 12.

What block design and fabrics is up to you. If you want to do something that will remind us of your location, of you, or of our PC "ride" that would be great. If you want to make all your blocks the same that is fine or if you want to make certain blocks for certain people, that is good too...just be sure to label individual blocks so I know who gets what.

Please sign your blocks on the front. How much info you include is up to you. Some ideas: QB name, real name, date, and location (state/province/country)

Do you want white or cream if used?
Cream or Off White: QNS, Carrie, Oksewglad, Honchey
Either is fine: Dublb, QuiltE, JanRN, Mirabelle, Gardnergal970, Jeanie, Deranged_damsel (?)

I think that is all. :) Any questions, please ask.

Oh and Anael, if you decide to join, can you please send me a PM with your name and email. I can send out emails so no one misses the posts.

Anael 10-24-2012 12:48 PM

Carrie, I just PMd you!

Either white or off white if possible please. I didn't use cream (as far as I can remember).
It's good we have enough time to think about what blocks to make and how to sign them.

PayPal is ok with me.

So will you please show us a better pic?

I'm thrilled you are going to be with us on the Block Swap! :)

Not sure which blocks to post this week. I think Honchey watched another debate and hit the merlot (or just skipped the debate and went straight to the merlot LOL). Here's some blocks from either this week or next.

carriem 10-24-2012 02:16 PM

Anael--I've got you down...so happy you are joining us. :)

So, the count is up to 12 for the PC Bonus Blocks.

Jan--both blocks look great. The fussy cut flower is so pretty. I think I will "steal" your quilting idea for the phone. A lot of people look at the block and can't figure out what it is. Several have said a scale.

Here is my telephone block

Gee , if you want to see a telephone this week all decorated for Halloween. It now gives the spiders a place to live until I use the "RAID."

QuiltE 10-24-2012 02:54 PM

BTW .... think Canada when you do those phone blocks. Alexander Graham Bell's home is just an hour or so drive from Yours Truly!!!

JanRN
... if this is the way she is now ... can only imagine election night! :)
Great two blocks. Love the quilting on the phone. And the other is getting me *sigh*ing as we do with MiraB's! Great FC!

CarrieM ... Another boudoir phone, I do believe.

All ... remember when the phones were in so many different colour choices?

QNSue ... Love the Halloween Phone!!! Watch out Works4Me will be along to steal all that web fabric!!

Speaking of spider web fabric ... W4Me .... is in search of a spider web fabric that's a TOT cream/white.
Anyone know of any?
Or know where it can be found?
Or in your stash?

QuiltingNinaSue 10-24-2012 03:57 PM

Sorry, not in my stash...check out the internet...multiple shops are all linked together in Ohio, makes the search easier. Found a batik on that I was looking for....about 1300 choices, If I remember correctly...it was the 697th choice I looked at. Bugs.com also has all kinds of bugs and more.

deranged_damsel 10-24-2012 05:04 PM

oh goodness me! I think I missed the Cream/White discussion, either that or I just wasnt paying any attention :P

BEAUTIFUL blocks ladies!!! as usual :D :D :D

I finished these blocks... but silly thing! as soon as I got caught up (mostly) my camera quit :P oh well! I will borrow my sisters camera next time I see her

Thanks QNSue ... I think W4Me has done a pretty broad internet search and from all different angles. Just not finding what she wants/needs for an upcoming project. Of course, there can always be other places. If by chance you have the link to that Ohio company, perhaps it's one she has not found yet? And maybe she has! :)

janRN 10-24-2012 05:12 PM

Carrie & QNS, love both blocks. QE is right--the phones came in so many different colors. I remember we had an avocado green wall phone in the kitchen that matched the avocado colored appliances---eew. I remember that was a popular color when I was little-all my friend's moms had the same color.

dublb 10-24-2012 08:07 PM

OMGoodness! I missed pickin' up this thread, & it's sister thread.
I love everyone's blocks. When my DSis & I were growin' up (in the 70's) our room was painted mustard yellow & we also had a matchin' phone.:)
Hooray! Anael is gonna join the PC swap! I'm so excited about the swap.
Anael please show our mouse.

:D here's the mouse! These are crib sheets I made for the triplets.

JeanieG 10-24-2012 10:48 PM

Oh my triplets!!! My daughter had twins (now age 19), and I thought that was exhausting! My nephew and his wife just found out they are having twins (a boy and a girl).

The sheets are just darling! Are they appliqued or embroidered?

Anael 10-24-2012 11:17 PM

Yes triplets :D They wanted another baby, with the first ultrasound they found out it were twins and with the second ultrasound they found another baby so now it's triplets. My DDIL was scared to have another ultrasound LOL.
As money is an issue now they asked me to make all the sheets and bedcovers they need. I'm happy to do that! I made 4 sheets and 6 covers and have to wait till payday because I ran out of fabric. I still have a lot to go as they're going to need more sheets for the pram(s) as well!
The sheets are embroidered, the designs are from Embroidery Library.

janRN 10-25-2012 04:42 AM

Jeanie, love the blue around your horse; your block has lots of movement to it. They were worth seeing twice LOL.

Anael, those sheets are too cute! Sounds like you're going to be very busy, too, not just the parents!

dublb 10-25-2012 07:47 AM

Anael - I just gotta ask, what are prams?

Anael 10-25-2012 08:03 AM
