Great blocks everyone. I finished one of the two! Jan, your quilting just gets more impressive all the time. How are you doing on your new toy??? Did you do these blocks on it?

janRN 10-29-2012 05:08 PM

Thanks, Jeanie. These I quilted on my Viking; I started the blocks on it and wanted to be consistent. They are so fun to quilt at this size. I've been playing a little with my Sweet 16--very humbling to see how much practice I need. I've got chronic bursitis in my left shoulder and this weather is making the pain so much worse than usual; I can't really do too much sewing on large items. Can't wait to play some more and maybe get a few wall hanging (UFO's) done.

Oh gosh, Jan, I know what you mean about the bursitis, I have had bought of that in the past! Right now my arthritis is my hands in acting up. My fingers are so stiff! It is a good thing I keep using them in quilting and typing, as I can imagine how much worse they would be if I did not exercise them in this way.

Are you getting any of that hurricane in your area? The damage is going to be astronomical I hear! Will be praying for all of you in harms way!

WOW! .... some beauties thru the storm!

Honchey ... hope the power stayed on and you've been able to use this as a pleasant distraction!

QNSue ... Good to see the telephone again this week. Your Virginia Star really frames up those horses well. The blues, kind of look like the storm brewing in the background.

CarrieM ... still love that Boudoir Phone! And oh my, that VS is perfectly contrasted and shows off so well!

MiraB ... another pair filled with *sighs*! Virginia is truly American patriotic with those roses surrounded with the stars. Have a FUN day with your DD. It's so nice that the two of you share your love of sewing.

JanRN ... A beautiful pair to brighten your way in the storm. The one on the left is so clean and crisp. The one on the right is stunning! Are you using a twin needle for your double rows of stitching? As for what ... what are the names of both blocks?

janRN 10-30-2012 04:46 AM

Thanks, QE, and good to hear from you. How was the storm in your area? Luckily, we have no damage but flooding is a given with all our hills and valleys. I'm on a hill thankfully but we do have some water in the basement; this has only happened twice before so you know we got tons of rain. DH keeps yelling at me to turn off the Weather Channel (I'm a WC junkie) but I'm amazed at the pics from the coast. Hope Anne is okay.

The blocks on the left is one from PC (Virginia I think) but the block on the right is from QuiltersCache called North Woods Cabin. It's one that turned out too small so I "framed" it to bring it up to size. I just quilt with a single needle then echo the lines.
