I had a good day taday. http://www.quiltinghaven.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif Taday the dishwasher repairman came & Maytag/Whirlpool did fork the $ ta pay for it. I guess DH & I won't post about how bad it was all over the internet. Allright, I would just post it here but DH does FB & is a member o' 3 or 4 forums. Anyway, DH & I have decided ta just keep washin' by hand most o' the time & use it for special occasions. It might actually last for a bit.

After I did some things around the house DH asked me ta come outside w/him as he replaced the heater core on the 1966 Ford PU. He had it on the tail gate so I was actually able ta help him. I used ta crawl under the hood & help him but haven't in at least 4 years. (It hurts too much.) I guess he has missed me & was thrilled that I went out & spent some time w/him.

DGN came taday & after he did his math & spellin' I had him read ta himself. It was a book that he was readin' before we started doin the workbook called Mini Mysteries. The Mysteries have become over his head so I went back ta the books. Well he was on page 57 & in 15 min.s said that he finished the 124 page book. NOT! First I have 2 sm note books & told him ta list all the characters & who they are in one o' the notebooks. (He didn't git very far w/that & will do more tamarrow.) After he left I read the first chapter myself & have come up w/10 questions for him ta answer. I will do this for the rest o' the book as I am gonna make him reread it.

While he did his math I started drawin' the grids for 7 quilt blocks on my tear away stabilizer. I thought I'd like ta see how it does w/the grid method. I have all the lines goin' one way on all 7. Tamarrow I will do the lines goin' the other way.

I guess I am inta writin' books again. :o
OK, your big mini is just amazing! What I want ta know is; did ya use all o' your mini 9 patches?

Sorry to tell you this...second day of short sleeve weather!!! :D

Going to the post office today then to Hobby Lobby for ?????

Went to a thrift store this a.m. and picked up a quilting magazine for .35 cents and it has a mini quilt pattern in it..7x9" and it has 9 blocks and borders in it...Ha Ha , I can just see me with my fat fingers doing it up.

I'm going to have to move some stuff around in my sewing area and have decided to put a small craft table in the closet and just run an extension cord in there to run the two little machines (serger & hemming)..The hemming is a new to me Janome Coverpro 900CPX..Picked it up on sewitsforsale. on Yahoo Groups.. I have so many pants and shirt sleeves that need hemming and it's too much trouble for me to do it with the sewing machine..I needed a new toy:) I hope I have success with it..
The thrift shop chest of drawers that is in the guest room has to be moved to the area where the craft table was..I have more storage that way and then the wicker furniture will be moved into the guest bedroom... I'm tired just thinking about it..but it needs to be done..
Jan, sending you a PM... Later guys, H.

Dublb, glad you had good luck with the Maytag repairmen, cause I did not on our Maytag refrigerator. Sounds like you are on top of things there.

OK, you have a another wonderful mini quilt all done. How full are the jars now, did you use them all?

Honchey, it takes time and patience to get things moved in my house...if dh can argue about it he will.

Its a true green day here, with $$$$ tax refund going into the checking account to reduce our pay back on the Geo
Thermal system. And the remainder will be given back to us next tax year.Mo does not rebate like Iowa does, so no $$$ there.

JanRN, did you ever finish the door decor with the large P for pirates?

How many got the news from Laura Aaron Hind about her book coming out on an earlier market than what she can mail out?

JeanieG 03-17-2015 12:09 PM

Yep, got Laurie's email. She says they will ship mid-May, if they come from her. She said she is not getting as many as she expected.

I'm over the moon....Honchey's finding mini quilt patterns to sew....Jan's sewing 4" blocks...ladies in my guild are sewing smaller blocks.....I guess I'm a nutty influence...:D:D:D

Thanks for the kind words...I have 80+ 9P's to use...not only that I have lots of 1" strings to use up....

dublb, I am so amazed at the patience and energy you put into helping that little boy. You remind me of my country school teacher...She was a fantastic teacher for all kids no matter what their capabilities were.

What a joy to share your love of quilting with your DD, Carrie...

QNS..is it spring yet...you'll be planting garden soon. Heard and saw a robin yesterday....

Sounds like you are settling in, Honchey...Enjoy the weather...was 70 here yesterday..did get a walk in but spent the better part of my day in the office. Took Sam to play group this am, got groceries, and ran errands for church fundraiser, I'm co chair of. A busy two weeks ahead of me so could be quiet from here.

Ok, dh has his first tomato ripening on the vine ......in his 'garden' in his bedroom. Four more tomatoes to ripen on the vine there. Massive group of sweet potatoes that need to go as soon as possible into the ground. Easter marks the turning point here, but subject to frost up until second week of May.. . . or later. It is freezing weather tonight, so different than the 83 yesterday....that's normal this time of year. Chickens are eating every green leaf of grass almost before to spouts up in the poultry yard.. . we are hoping they are not killing out patches of grass for the summer.

I did get a little work done in the QR. Paperwork and baking to do in the morning.

Yesterday was just beautiful! 85*F! I knew that it was such a busy day that I wouldn't be able ta do any yard work so planned ta do it taday. The weather man said that it would rain th'sevenin' so I would be able ta dig earlier in the day. Well it rained all day taday. LOL
DH & did start the day exercising. We used the last part o' his retirement gift card ta buy an elliptical/bicycle. I asked him ta wake me so we could exercise & he did. I am sleepy tanight. I hope that this will make me sleepy tanight. :)
DGN wasn't happy ta be answerin all the questions but he has got ta actually read the book.

Honchey 03-18-2015 09:30 AM

Went to BINGO last nite and didn't win..Boo Hoo! DH is playing golf so I'm going in the little walk in closet to start reorganizing so I can move the craft table in there...then maybe do a little sewing...the little pieces are calling to me...:)
