Looks like we were posting at the same time, QuiltE and I missed your pic of your FMQ. Well done. Very clever to think of clover. Isn't it fun when it goes well?

Gardnergal, come on up for a visit next July and we will get you to the Stampede. I have friends who just love it, but it has no appeal for me. I don't do well in crowds and the Stampede has plenty of crowds.

In regards to the Percherons, I used to work with special needs kids. One little guy had a terrible time with academics, he was small for his age and found school difficult. He was a whiz with driving the Percherons. He asked me to go watch him compete one time and it made me so proud of him to see him handle those great big animals. I will always think of him when I go to see them.

Once when I was taking a student to a farm for work experience I got talked into helping the farmer give a needle to a Clydesdale. I was supposed to hold his neck while the farmer stuck the needle in. I am not very big or strong, so it was questionable why he asked me, but any port in a storm. We got it done, but I have a healthy respect for those big guys.

Today I am going to throw a Toad in the Hole in the oven and then go to the sewing room for the first time in a week. I am going to make a list of projects needing finished, prioritize, then start on the first one. I do have the second PC flimsy up on the wall. Maybe that should be priority number 1!!

Tomorrow I start the hunt for roller blades!

Love your quilt, QE. You did a great job with FMQ. I'm asking the same question as Jeanie, did you draw the clovers on first? I have to draw whatever I'm trying to FMQ or all I can do is meander or stipple and even then I end up in a corner.

Fabulous things happening here while I was gone for the day; great pictures posted, great news from all...OKsewGlad email me the day you will be at the Fair, if its not too hot would love to take your picture there then!

Not so good news here. Big sewing table ordered is NOT IN. They will ship direct to me, put it together, then charge me one tenth of the price of the table to do so!! If it were a $25 charge that would be OK. So will have to see when the long awaited table is coming in; don't know right now. Office depot is shipping a $60.00 table to me no shipping charges...on a four foot table. Picked up my cutting table at JoAnns for 40% off price...like the ones dh had me take back to JoAnns in Texas when we moved. Maybe the big desk will be in during Fair Time.

Dh wanted a 5 cup salad made, so I did that first when I got home; also cleaned 2 pounds of strawberries, now need to make the jello salad, strawberries and bananas, and cut up the four fryer chickens that was on sale as soon as I finish the dishes...dh wore himself out and is taking a break watching TV while I work in the kitchen...so sweet of him!!

GGal ... here's hoping the Ocean Waves and Breeze have helped you stay cool! Yes caught by the FMQ bug first by mmany of the rest of you Lovely Ladies. I obviously missed something about Honchey and a QOTS contact.

Honchey ... great news ^^^ Hope today's travel day went well. And now you will be home and tired!

JeanieG, JanieW and JanRN ... OR maybe I should have simplified it with The Three J's Thank you!!! Oh no, I just went for it. I actually find it harder to follow something on the fabric. Awhile back, I printed a picture of one of Anael's quilts with the design, and used it as my guide. I did do some pencil and paper "FMQing" first to get in the routine of when to curve left right or whatever. It was kind of like doing a 3 pointed figure 8 (get the idea?). The 4-Leaf Clovers were when I messed up and had to fill in what didn't look so good! Then graduated to a scrap piece, then to a practice IRL piece that'll become a QAYG project ...... then onwards to the real thing and just went for it. The more I did it, the better I felt with it. Of course, easier to do it on a border, than across a whole quilt though.

JeanieG ... Are there happy little hammers rattling away there? :D

JanieW ... I'm with you on the "I hate crowds"!! I do ... and really do avoid them as much as possible. Great horse memories for you ... guess you had to look "tough" when you were asked to help and had a student with you! :D Remember, they are called the Gentle Giants for a reason! :D

QNSue ... sorry for your disappointments today. That'd be a great thing if you could attend Mr+MrsOKSGlad's "hanging" for us! Is your 5 cup salad ... sour cream, coconut, marshmallows, mandarins, pineapple? Haven't had it for years and oh so delicious! Definitely a nice hot weather treat.

DublB ... enjoy your stew! I had leftovers ... often cook doubles for the next day/meal. Or multiples for the freezer too. Makes for some great hot weather eating ... and stand bys when quilting is more important than eating! :D

QuiltE - Wow, I'm so impressed that you did your clovers without drawing them first! That is awesome!!! The construction crew was here all day today! Yeah! It is ready for the dry waller to start tomorrow.

JeanieG ... Thanks!! ... Remember, if I can do it, you too can do it TOO! :D
I am even more impressed at the speed of that crew!
Ready to dry wall already! :)

DublB ... is that really THREE FWs that I see? So how does the sale work? Auction? or like a Garage Sale? Have FUN and Good Luck!!!

QuiltingNinaSue 07-17-2013 04:52 PM

QuiltE said: 'Is your 5 cup salad ... sour cream, coconut, marshmallows, mandarins, pineapple?' No mandarins, use red and white seedless grapes split into halves, crushed pineapple. Jello salad was banana, strawberries and nectarines with strawberry-banana jello. Summer food.

Cut up the four fryers and they are in the deep freeze. Funny how I used to cut up the chickens with DGM and how do them now and split the chicken in halves....then cut up each half to go into freezer bags. or put dark meat separate from white meat. Sprinkle kosker salt over the chicken before freezer adds a better favor when you do cook it.

Yes it is 3 FWs! & as I look there are 2 other sewin' machines, a steam press, a serger & so much more. It's even just down the street from the house I'm buyin'! (Don't go by the map in the add. It's all messed up!) It works like a garage sale. Ya go & buy what ya can. Fri will be 20% off & Sat will be 50% off. I think if I want a FW I had better not wait though. I think they will be gone.
