Here is my Children's Delight...When I found this fabric in my stash and browsed the blocks and thought this block is perfect for this fabric... what child isn't delighted with Santa?

janRN 02-28-2012 06:25 PM

Love it!! The fabric fits the theme of the block-very delightful. Great job and will add lots of brightness to your PC quilt.

oksewglad 02-28-2012 07:46 PM

Hopefully we'll be seeing more of Santa later on down the trail.

What cute blocks, love them all.
Here are mine for this week, I love having an easy one to start with

mirabelle 02-29-2012 03:01 AM

Oops upside down roses, sorry

Anael 02-29-2012 03:13 AM

Beautiful blocks mirabelle. I love the rose fabric, even when the roses are upside down :D :D

gardnergal970 02-29-2012 05:19 AM

Honchey...Santa really dresses up your block. Nice choice.

Anael...your little cowboy is too cute and the horseshoes are the perfect size for the other block.

Mirabelle...your fabric continues to wow me. Love how you worked it up for these blocks.

janRN 02-29-2012 05:35 AM

Anael, the Children's Delight is so cute-love the FC and polka dots; and you nailed those triangles in Corral.

Mirabelle, those are such pretty blocks, soft colors and so well done. Love them.

Honchey, Anael, Mirabelle......great, as usual.....Here's mine...

Anael 02-29-2012 08:58 AM

great blocks wendiq! The centerblock in Children's Delight is lovely !

Termi 02-29-2012 09:06 AM

It's always such fun to see all the new blocks!!
Honchey, great idea to use Christmas fabrics and you found the perfect one for this block.
Anael, I like both your blocks, very cute cowboy and pretty colors. Both look perfect!
Mirabelle, as always, beautiful blocks, nice job!!
Wendiq, what cute and pretty fabric in Children's Delight and I love the yellow horseshoe fabric in County Fair.

Well, it's starting to snow here. Have to go move my animals inside.
Will post my pictures later.

janRN 02-29-2012 09:11 AM

Wendiq, love your blocks. You used the perfect fabric in each. So well done.

Anael 02-29-2012 09:27 AM

great blocks wendiq! The centerblock in Children's Delight is lovely !

Oops, sorry, double post!

gardnergal970 02-29-2012 09:27 AM

Wendig...you also have such cute little people on your blocks and your County Fair is simple classic. Really shows off the pattern of the block.

So many great blocks, I do say! Everyone is doing such an incredible job on the pointy-points and squared-squares!

Honchey ... so much fun to "officially" see Santa and his Laughing Horse (to quote Anael!!) It's a perfect block to showcase that fabric.

Anael ... another perfect fabric and block match up with your Lil Cowboy. Great FC to get that square in a square to work out so great. Looks like lots of horses kicking up their heels at the County Fair.

MiraB ... I continue to drool every time I see your fabric. The colours/fabrics all work together ever so nicely and are going to make for such a welcoming bed quilt.

WendiQ ... Now that Lil Cowgirl and Cowboy just say Country and Western the best, and trimmed up just right with the rope and bandana prints! A nice contrast to the County Fair.

And here's mine ....

Such a change from our novelties.

gardnergal970 02-29-2012 09:44 AM

QuiltE...the yellow shows up nicely in both of your blocks. Had to look close to see the horse in the County Fair but you got it in perfectly. First I've noticed the blender you used on that block and I really like it a lot.

It's actually a little Carousel Horse, GGal! I'll have to get the full horse into another block. It would have been better if I'd framed it up with the blue to help show it off a little more. It kind of disappears into the yellow. I was really pleased with the County Fair, not so much for the Children's Playmate.

QuiltE, I love both your blocks, really pretty colors and contrast. Nice horse fabric too!!

Here are mine.

QuiltE 02-29-2012 10:59 AM

Thanks Termi ... now yours are something else, from the fun and playful fancy cutting to the tranquility of the quilting classes at the County Fair!! Better watch that those juicy berries don't stain the handiwork! :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing your group photo !!

Rose Burnett 02-29-2012 11:20 AM

It is fun to see all of the different choices in each of your blocks. Everyone's blocks are great and so individual.

Anael 02-29-2012 11:57 AM

QuiltE, I love your blocks and fuzzy cutting! The horses in both blocks are lovely. I think the County Fair block is beautiful.

Termi, such cute fabric :D I've never seen this before. The fabric in County Fair is gorgeous, great choices!

JeanieG 02-29-2012 12:26 PM

Wonderful blocks again this week everyone! Just love to scroll through them over and over and see what everyone has done. You are all such talented people! I'm fighting a darn cold, hope it gets better soon, I just want to lie down and sleep.

janRN 02-29-2012 02:41 PM

QE, I love your blocks-the yellow is working out very nicely. Love your FC ponies.
Termi: you must have the cutest fabric stash--love your ponies! Those strawberries look yummy.
Great job on all the blocks, ladies.

mirabelle 02-29-2012 03:01 PM

JeanieG hope you are feeling better.
Everyones blocks amaze me each week at how beautiful they all are, love the fussy cut centres. These weeks seem to be flying by

gardnergal970 02-29-2012 03:47 PM

Termi...your children's delight is really a delight. I love your corners. Very excellent corners on all of those little triangles on the other block.

QuiltE 02-29-2012 03:56 PM

Oh Oh ... JeanieG ... Looks like that plague that some of the rest of us have been fighting has headed westward! Sleep is excactly what you need (for starters!) to knock it flat.

RBurnett ... why don't you join in on the fun?

Anael ... Thanks and yes, County Fair is my favourite of the two. CD is just so-so!

Jan ... I'm kind of in a love-hate relationship with the yellow. When I like the block I really really like it ... and when I'm ho-hum about it, I start to 2nd guess myself. I'm trying to pick up on what it is that I do like and factor that in, as I make fabric selections.

Here are my blocks for this week.

oksewglad 02-29-2012 10:17 PM

Oh what fun--new blocks!
Anael--what a sweet Children's Delight and the perfect piecing in County Fair-priceless
Mirabelle--another sigh from me--oh so pretty
wendiq--What a cute couple surrounded by ropes and blue bandanas-great colors. When sewing Cty fair I declared anyone who FC the Cty Fair is crazy. Sorry to include you in this group:thumbup:
QE--You chose the perfect center for the C Delight. Great contrast in C Fair. See above comment:)
termi--You should've seen the big smile which came across my face when I saw your C Delight. Love it. And strawberries--they are in season during our C Fair.
Jeanie--wonderful color gradations in your "Riders in the sky"; beautiful. And of course watermelons at the Cty Fair!
Great blocks everyone.:o:o:thumbup:

Farmer's Delight and County Fair

2 Attachment(s)
I chose this little brown cow for my "farmer's" delight. Like the squirrel think this will show up again among the Kansas Troubles fabrics!

Didn't enjoy sewing the County Fair--points aren't as nice as I'd like, oh well. I must tell you that DH and I met at the County Fair; young sixteen year olds who discovered they had the same Birthday--man that was a long time ago!!!

janRN 03-01-2012 05:35 AM

Jeanie, absolutely beautiful blocks. I love the fabric you used in Delight--gorgeous!
OKsewglad, again great blocks. Love the cow print--I collect folk art and have seen that done as a small painting. Love it.
Both of you did great with all those triangles.

gardnergal970 03-01-2012 05:42 AM

Jeanie...for not feeling good , you really did good! The fabric blends beautifully on the first block and do the melons ever remind me of summer in the CF block.

OkSG...bet that brown cow didn't score very high even though she's a looker! Points look good on CF. Did you use templates? Loved the county fair and still do. We didn't show animals so we never got to stay overnight. I participated in the 4-H dress review but my best friend always won purple and the privilege of going to state. When my kids were in 4-H they had animals but we lived close enough and had chores at home so they never stayed over night either. Long, fun filled days!

butttttttttt ..... it was only the first piece of the unit, so easy-peasy :)

OKSGlad .... now that one would not have scored so well last Friday, though she does have a pretty even topline!! :) Your block a definite EX for these Classifiers! :) What a nice love story about the County Fair! So many memories for the two of you. I know so many others that found their mates thru 4-H shows and at Madison! :) And what do you mean about not being happy with the points? Looks purdy darned good!

JeanieG ... Beautiful blocks ... riding off into the sunset and then a bright and beautiful day at the Fair. Your use of the wheat as inspired me as to what to do with mine.

Once again ... how different the blocks look. Have you noticed how some of the blocks that the squares pop forward ... and some, the triangles ... and some the opposite triangles.

Oh so different according to the fabrics and their placements!

wendiq 03-01-2012 08:22 AM

QuiltE...Love your center blocks.....the rest t'aint bad either.....LOL!

wendiq 03-01-2012 08:29 AM

wendiq--What a cute couple surrounded by ropes and blue bandanas-great colors. When sewing Cty fair I declared anyone who FC the Cty Fair is crazy.... Not sure what you are saying here, but I will say that your Points are pretty darn good! Someone once told me, "If you can't see it from a passing car, it's good to go"....I always remember that and laugh.....Maybe you can use it too.....:)

Here are my two for the week. Children's Delight has one of the very few novelty prints I have so I had to try it. The colors on the County Fair are brighter. There are rosebuds in the background fabric but once it's pieced they are hard to see.

QuiltE 03-01-2012 12:13 PM

GGal ... great job on both. That sheep block couldn't have been a better fit into that opening!
Reminds me of some fabric that I have ... must dig it out.
I see those roses ... peaking thru the trellis, perhaps?

Here are mine for this week. I've given up on trying to fit the Pony theme.

QuiltE 03-01-2012 02:41 PM

Ooooooooooooh Sew Nice, JanRN ... looks like a pair of perfectly PPd blocks!
PPing isn't all that bad now, is it? :)
Me too, not sticking with the pony theme ... though am trying to stick with rural and nature.

ahem!!!!!!! ............. STILL waiting to see SAS and decadron (or whatever it's called!) :)
