Can you believe we have been at it for 8-1/2 months??? We only have 35 blocks to go after this week. What an accomplishment!!! Anne

Mine are all done...111 blocks and scanned in. The Queen size...so, I am making another 44 for the king before I quilt it row by row, myself, following similar route that Violet is doing with hers...thanks everyone for their ideas. With all this rain, Row, row your boat could be a theme song...14 are already done of the 44 need for the king size.

Wow NinaSue I can't believe you have them all done! That is amazing!!! I'm still plugging along with my 2 blocks a week! I am starting to quilt my lap quilt (first half of FWS) in between other stuff.

Gee, I have all that time free now that I am not busy reading the daily QB newsletter...still trying to get it on a daily basis. I may get it one day then it skips...or three days and it skips a week or two until I ask again for more tech help please. I love it, just it does not come as it used to prior to March 21st.

And Spring is here; our tulips are pictured in my avatar now, and "Blondie" our deaf cat is in the picture too. One of my eight adopted cats.

NinaSue what an amazing accomplishment. I tried to get ahead but there is just too much going on at the moment. I am only managing the two per week by the skin of my teeth lol!

It didn't help from January to March we had atrocious weather with local flooding and a cyclone, but I am slowly getting back on track.

Jeanie you already have one beautiful quilt and you're working on the second one. Great job

For a month or so, I was very far ahead, then Christmas came and went and I got caught up to current. Then my computer quit and all my scanned pictures are in it. Using my husbands laptop just isn't the same, doesn't have the same programs.
Hoping to get ahead again soon.
Everyone has done such a great job. It has been a big challange for me and I have enjoyed every block, well almost.
This weeks blocks were great.

Please, please tell me how you all matched corners in the Rose bud block. I pp, did the templates, even downloaded the rotary cutting instructions which came up short after I sewed the seams together...just finger pressing not with an iron. May be its not my thing with one eye to get it together right, but I sure tried. And tried. Again. I did the Wild Goose & Geese blocks last, and may do them again since its not quite the way I want them to look, but its the Rose bud block we just did that really has me stumped. Thanks again for any help or hints you may have.

Hi QuiltingNinaSue, for the Rosebud block I drew up my own PP pattern, then cut it into quarters. You can PP the whole quarter then sew them together. Start with the smallest HST's then sew the next triangle on and lastly sew the largest triangle on.
I hope that makes sense it is almost midnight here and I was on my way to bed but I have to walk past the computer and as everyone keeps saying, this forum is addictive

Hi QNS: I used templates and still notice I'm going to lose a point when I put my sashing on. I've found if I press the seams open on this block I at least got the centers and most of the other points to match. (I also used fabric that doesn't have real high contrast--sort of blends so it hides my mistakes; don't tell anyone LOL!!)

Hi QNS, Just to let you know that when I give the numbers for the rotary cutting..they are for the exact size of the piece needed unless I round it up and I say that in the post. Not everyone sews the same seam allowance nor cuts the "same" 3" square so it's up to the individual to figure out what works for them. I always cut a few threads over the line and I check the pieces being sewn to make sure they aren't smaller or larger than what they're supposed to be. Even with pping you need to pin the "points" to keep them from shifting. For me, some blocks can take 3 to 4 hours to do because of all the pinning and YES the ripping also. I also find that when pping the intersections on the back are not necessarily the same on the front because of the folding over of more that 2 layers of fabric. If you place a pin thru the point on the right side of the block...see where it is on the other side. you would think it will be where the seams intersect.. but it isn't.. that's why you need to make sure the pinning is correct. you peek inside the pinned seam to see where the pins meet up. I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain. I'll take some photos for Tuesdays posting. Everyone get their blocks ready for the 3rd milestone( blocks 51 - 75) which will be posted also on Tuesday. Have a peaceful holiday everyone. Anne
