Love the colors, beautiful work, ladies. See if I can wake up here and show my blocks..
Star Gardner has all his ants in a row; unfortunately, mine are not. Star of hope , radiant star, I wish....I may...I wish I might... have the wish, I wish tonight. |
You are soooo clever QuiltingNinaSue!!!
|
QuiltingNinaSue - Love your theme approach - very cute!
|
Thank you. The block patterns seem to "talk" to me. Love to garden, cook, and quilt and read good books. Right now, we are doing more work outside than inside. I do enjoy seeing the other blocks everyone is creating that are so perfect..loved doing this project with other wonderful quilters, and Anne advising us and encouraging us so much.

I love the blocks you've all made! I must say...this week's blocks should have been a breeze to make but I just wasn't on my game for some reason...kept making mistakes and then I realize the first block doesn't have enough contrast and then I put the wrong main color on the second block...sigh...
Anne did you notice that the Farmer's Wife foundation block for #88 has it made with more half square triangles than what's in the book? We have five to a side instead of four...go figure! I'm not thrilled with what I did, but I'm not going to re-do these... Star Gardener Star of Hope |
I think they all are so neat - I am just starting so this is definitely inspiration!

Here are my next two blocks. I sewed all day yesterday to try and get ahead on this project, but only managed 3 extra blocks, oh well that gives me breathing space for the next week .
Now back to the machine, I have to finish a charity quilt this weekend It will be sad when we finish this quilt, but I will definitely be looking for another project on the QB. Everyones blocks look great  Star Gardener Star of Hope |

As always, I'm enjoying everyone's blocks. The colors and combinations are inspiring! Although I don't always get the points done right, I love HSTs. Here are mine for the week.

Evie and Mirabelle, your blocks are sooo pretty!
|
RW - I think your blocks are great. Fabrics are beautiful. It is getting harder and harder to find different blends out of my stash.
|
Mirabelle and Evie - you have made some beautiful blocks, keep up the great work.

I adore your blocks!!!

Everyone's blocks are great! Even tho we're this far along, I don't think I've seen 2 the same. Sorry for posting this so late--I'm having computer trouble and can't always get on QB; when I do get on I don't have Watched Topics so have to hunt you guys down. It's worth it--very inspiring.

QuiltingNanaSue,
I love how you used the blue material. That is so wicked. Everyone's blocks are so nice. I love the fabrics. I haven't done these yet. I don't know what fabrics I will use or how, but I have inspiration! Kookie |
Very nice! All these blocks are going to make some beautiful quilts!

Very pretty-love those colors!

Thanks everyone! We had a great trip to Whidbey Island, WA, to visit with friends, then to Toppenish, WA for a grandson's graduation from high school. Saw Crater Lake on the way home to California. We were gone a little over a month. We travel in our motorhome.

Ooh-love the fabric in #88-great blocks!

That Darn PP pattern!

When I looked at 87 & 88 I thought, "Oh boy! Two easy blocks!" Well 87 was easy, just had a lot of pieces. Then I waded into 88, only to find out the pp pattern from Yahoo FW group was wrong. It was backwards! Found this out after I had done the entire block! Arggghhh! So I started again from scratch. Redrew lines on HST and got it all straightened out. Got it done with all the HSTs in right place with right fabric. Yipppeeee! Then tragedy struck! The block was six inches. More Arggggghhhhhh!
I'm including a picture of it and the pretty star gardener. I think I am just going to put a red strip around the right and bottom sides to make the block 6 1/2 inches. I don't want to bother with making it again or doing another one instead. |
It Didn't Turn Out Too Bad

Here's the revised edition of #88. I made the borders a little wider so I can trim it to 6 1/2" exactly!
|
Good alternate plan! And your blocks look lovely ... no one will know about your creativity. Unless of course you tell them!
In the end, I decided not to sew. When I looked at my calendar for the next few days, I knew this would be my best time to strip the tree and undecorate my home from Christmas. Winter theme decorations and snowmen stay up to enjoy til closer to spring!! Not done yet, but well on the way ... and then will sew after supper. |
