I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE IS WORKING ON THIS QUILT USING ENGLISH PAPER PIECING? IT IS A LOT OF FUN BUT REALLY TAKES SOME PATIENCE....IT IS ALL DONE BY HAND!

Linda Franz has an Inklingo package for this quilt.
http://inklingo.com/product.php?productId=31 http://www.lindafranz.com/blog/patch...lectric-quilt/ When she came out with it about two years ago(?), there were scores of bloggers working on it. Some of the fabric combos, especially those that went the Kaffe & Co. route, were stunning. Here's a random blogger's work. Scroll down to see the different blocks: http://quiltobsession.wordpress.com/...rosses/page/4/ |
I was just at a quilt show today and one of the shops was demonstrating this. I've done the Grandmother's Flower Garden before and I did buy a package of the 1" honeycomb pieces to put together.

I am working on a scrap one..... I've gotten 14 (inner) blocks done-- basically 3 levels out...i know most have 4 levels, but I am considering skipping the fourth or just making that my pathway/connection color. If I do 4 levels and then my pathway, this thing is going to get bigger than I wanted it to be. Each block is generally one basic color with different patterns/shades.
I wish I had the eye for the fancier patterns that almost look like a kaleidoscope, but I don't.....some I have seen online are gorgeous! |

I've made only one with civil war repros, just to try it out. I love the way it looks, but it was time consuming. Seems like just a regular hexi flower/grandmother's garden is faster.
