PaintmeJudy hosts a mystery quilt sew-along several times a year. She uses a train theme. Each week she posts a clue which we sew up and then at the end we end up with a beautiful quilt. She did a mini one right right after Christmas -- http://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks-...e-t209515.html. Skim it for an idea of the fun we have.

the best thing on this board. Paintmejudy gives directions for a quilt, some each week. it's called a mystery quilt because you don't know what it will look like when you get done.
look under 'block of the month, week' section . find stash buster, which was her last one, i think. another one was judy's third mystery . look at all the finished pictures. it will give you a hint, on how to chose your colors. you can always click on her 'name', and then chose her forum posts, to see what she posted.

Has anything been posted on how many and how much fabric we need for this next one? I've been going through my stash picking some things out. I'm getting antsy waiting for Saturday morning!

It's called MQ8. http://www.quiltersclubofamerica.com...s/t/39208.aspx Scroll to the last page to find the sign-up link for the group. The MQs are done a bit differently there as there is a general discussion area (the link above) and then a "Group" you join to ask specific questions. Gets a bit confusing at times, but Nana does a wonderful job in presenting the mystery.
