I will have to wait untill I get home in Oregon before I can get this block done. Everything is packed so cant get to the machine.

sewmerry 04-03-2013 10:33 AM

I'm in , bbbuuuutttt. I am still hand piecing my Jan. BOM.. HAHAHA can I ever catch up? I had never tried hand piecing and decided to this time... only have 1 more eighth to finish. But, yesterday I stayed with the table runner I'm making and got most of the appliqueing done only 144 leaves to app. I feel good about what I got done so maybe I'll finish Jna. and get a start on Feb. Why have I never heard about spray glue for appliqueing? Have I messed up?

Well, at first I thought I did it wrong, took part of it APART- nope didn't do it wrong, forgot to turn it correctly to put corners on. Here it is, doesn't pop like I had hoped, but at least got it finished.

CajunBear 04-03-2013 01:09 PM

Judy, don't have a clue what the May block will be. Maybe whoever will be doing it will give us a clue! Lol. MaMahen your block looks great!

Hugs,
Cajun

Don't be scared, just take it slow & easy, Lay out all your pieces in correct placement then slowly & carefully piece your pieces together in sections. Really it is easy, once you make it you'll wonder why you fretted so long. Mamahen.

Caroline, that's really pretty! I wouldn't have thought such a large print would work, but it really does!

Jenniky 04-06-2013 10:57 AM

Looking great Caroline. I would love to see a picture of all of your blocks done so far together. :)

Here you go Jenn. I auditioned the black, green and red fabrics for sashings. Did not like them as they were rather dull. So I pulled some hot pink strips from the scrap bin to pull the pink color in the roses. I am liking it now. It will be interesting to see what it will look like after December.

mimiknoxtaylor 04-07-2013 02:09 AM

Boy, they're all looking great. Dedemac, I sent you a PM.
Lovin' the dark BG.

Jenniky 04-08-2013 06:52 AM

Wow Caroline they look great together. Just a thought what if you used a black sashing to tie the blocks together inside and then used the pink as outside sashings... like a big picture frame ? Just a thought. :) I love the way the block patterns pop with your fabric on the black. :) Fantastic job anyway you do it.

If I had some black on white polkadot or check fabric I might audition them for sashings. That would make a wild quilt! But we have a long way to go to December.

SulaBug 04-08-2013 08:20 AM

WOW.........I am so amazed at all of the gorgeous April 2013 BOM blocks that have been shared in the last few days. Everyone is doing a fantastic job making their Double Aster blocks. All of the color combinations are so pretty & would make a beautiful quilt if all together. Keep up the good work everyone!! :D :D :D :D

At first I wasn't going to do this one, but I found myself with more time on my hands, plus having a good machine to sew on makes the work go quickly. This was started and finished in one day!

Oh my gosh, I completed this month's block. I pp it thanks to Dede for the pattern. My printer must be off a little, so I just added log cabin strips to make it 12-1/2"
