QB Quilt Block of the Month for August 2013, pattern & direction's.

As promised, here is the pattern & instruction's for the block I picked out for the month of August, 2013. It's called Tallahassee. I hope you enjoy making this great block to add to our year's collection. Start your machines & get sewing!!

Since it says the block is 12" are they referring to finished size, after sewn in, or do I need to change it somehow to make it 12.5" like my other blocks?

She is referring to the finished size. It will measure 12.5" like the others, as long as you print out the right size. Double check the test 1" square to make sure it is the right size.

I love this in the thirties prints!

I am so glad to hear that everyone so far, likes this block for August. When I saw it, I just knew that I had to make it for my 2013 quilt. When the pattern says that it makes a 12" block, it will turn out to be 12 & 1/2 inches. Thank you for your nice comment's. I am so anxious to see how your blocks are going to turn out!!

Ok, thanks! It did print out at 1". This will be fun. :)

I had some trouble getting my printer to spit these out to proper scale.
Since it's a public domain block I just plugged it into EQ instead.

I created some PDF files to share in case anybody else had the same issues.

PatriceJ Thanks for the PDF I like the larger size for the 12 inch block I think that is the one I will do. It printed great when I chose actual size.

Thanks, PatriceJ. The printout from QC was off by 1/16th" This one is right on!

Oh, now I need to double check. I think it printed out right, put my ruler over it and the lines matched. lol I am NOT an anxious person, really!

Sulabug, the Tallahassee block is interesting, thanks for sharing it & the history!

Yes, I had the same issue with the 1/16th inch. Thanks again to Patrice for coming to the rescue :thumbup:

Yeah! A little research and I found the foundation pieces I need to finish this block! I love the block I think it is really pretty. I must just be tired now, going to start over with the foundations. Thanks Patrice~
