I like to play with more than one block sometimes and I call these Hybrid blocks.
This Hybrid uses Kansas Dugout blocks and Combination 4 Patch Blocks

So as usual they use my cut down method which I think makes your blocks more accurate and you have better control of the size as you go.
Just make sure to measure each time you complete a step.
It will save a lot of frustration when you are done.

Links for the two blocks I used

To make this quilt block into a 12 1/2" unfinished size you will need a 2 1/2" template.

You can take a look at the layout picture to see what Blocks you need and where to put the colors. If you change the color arrangement you will get a differant look from mine.

So try it out and see what you can make with this design! Have fun!

If you need any help don't hesitate to ask. I'll be more than happy to help.

If you need templates let me know. I will need your postal address and PLEASE send it by pm or email not on the open board. The templates are FREE no fees or postage needed.

On the Kansas Dugout blocks that have the same fabric in the middle and on one side I prefer to cut them just like the other blocks. If you want to try to make them with the middle and one side all in one piece just make sure you get the cut right so the seam will meet the next block right. I cut them all the same so I don't have to worry about whether I get the seam lined up right.

This quilt block I called Katie

That's a really pretty block, Rhonda!

Oh thats a pretty one..I though with a name like Katie, you'd have it going around in circles. lol I might have to make this one a 12 ". Oh we'll see. Those little bright colors on the 6" I'm making are bold, like me. You'll know what I do when I'm finished. Love the block.

I try to match the quilt blocks up with names that suit them. I hope you think this one is well matched! *Grin*

Well this one uploaded quickly. That's the way I like it. So here she is.....Katie Week 7....To me it looks like 4 arrows aiming straight to my heart. Much more significant than you will ever know. I love this block. Oh, and it's a 6 1/2" block!

As always your block is beautiful Katie

Thanks Rhonda, it's a little brighter than my picture shows, but I love it. It's going to be the center block of this little quilt.
