Default Quilt Along January 2013

Hi everyone, hope the holidays are finding you stress free, or with less stress than usual. In January I will be starting a Quilt Along and I would love for you all to join me. The information is posted below:

Quilt Along to start in January:
Friday January 4, 2013
8:30 - 9:30 PM in the chat room
Each week there is a choice of 2 blocks, one easy and one more challenging.
We meet in the chatroom between 8:30 - 9:30 to chat and discuss the blocks we are working on, answer any questions or to help those who need some help.
Every 3rd week is a catch up week for those who may have gotten too busy to do their blocks.
Pictures will be posted each week of the members finished block and at the end of the Quilt Along a picture of the finished top
Members who are involved will vote on what blocks we work on every 3rd week for the following 2 weeks.
Nothing other than information and friendship will be exchanged..

This weekend I will be posting a list of the blocks that we will be working on. If anyone has any suggestions for a block or any questions feel free to drop me a line.

Looking forward to chatting and quilting with everyone who joins..

I hope to join in...

where will the pictures and directions be posted? And what if I miss a week? Can I still keep up? How big will the blocks be? This sounds like fun.

Hi Hope. All links for the pattern will be posted here. Every third week we will have a catch up week where no block will be worked, it's going to be a catch up week and a chance to really chat and see how everything is going, discuss colors they are using in their quilts, ideas and whatever else people choose to talk about. I am aiming to have all the blocks be 12 inches so that we all get a decent sized couch quilt to cozy up under...

If you have any ideas for a pattern block that maybe you want to try let me know and I will add it to the list that I have started.

I am excited to start. No great blocks come to mind yet for suggestions. I am already thinking about fabrics.

Hi Rosie,
This will end up being sort of a sampler quilt? Is there a theme to the blocks being chosen? Stars, 9 patch variations, etc?

Hi Rosie,
This is a nice idea...quilting with friends without leaving home and having to pack up to go anywhere....my block suggestion is Crossed Canoes...this is a bit more challenging than some basic blocks and works well as a contemporary or traditional block...I can send the pattern if you need it.
Looking forward to this and have to remember to put it on my calendar.

I hope to join in. Will at least give it a shot. Would like to learn different blocks as I have not made a variety, just uncertain of myself. Thanks for putting this together.
