Quilts for Rosie - Weekly Paper Pieced Sampler Quilt Along
#382
I've been reading this thread today... Interesting. I decided to look something up when I saw that your pattern book was published by the Kansas City Star. Interesting because from the 1920's to the 40's the KC Star published a pattern a week in their paper. These are the pattern that later became the books they published. My great grandmother collected these patterns and infact made some quilts from them. I have her patterns, aged, fragile and priceless to me, they are in a folder she kept them in all those years ago. I looked in them, and sure enough found a couple of the patterns you are going to be making in your quilt. Just thought I'd share. Small world. K

Judith, your block is very pretty. You did a great job on it too.
On these blocks I've been removing the paper before sewing the sections together. It depends on the block as to whether I remove it before or after.

I have enjoyed everyone's blocks this past week. I went on a shop hop and to a retreat this past weekend with the intentions of buying the rest of the fabric needed for my "Rosie" quilt. Well...I found a couple more batiks that will match, but just couldn't find a background fabric for good contrast. So...I am starting from scratch! Not sure that I will even use batiks now. I am sure when I see the fabric I will know it....
